I've given this much thought and consideration, and made a decision to buy a Cure. I got to play through one and was more than impressed. At the time, I owned a Stang Ray head, and an RX Jr head; using these with a Z 1x12 convertible cabinet with a Celestion Gold. I have had issues with back trouble, and decided the weight of cabinets etc. were becoming more of a problem for me. The weight of the Cure seems so much more manageable, even if the weight difference is negligible.
That said, even if I wasn't dealing with the back issues, the Cure is such an attractive amp. It would be extremely difficult to find another amp (for the money especially) that has as much variety of tones and build quality as the Cure. I am looking forward to making music with this amp. I don't post much on here, but I wish to thank all the folks on this board that post great insight about all these Z amps. This forum really has a special thing going that lots of other forums don't have.

I usually play mine about half dirty, but I have been playing it clean with my 335 and smiling all day. You won’t regret it. I haul mine everywhere.

Great little amp, versatile too, I've had mine a few months now and I'm still finding out what it can do. Enjoy!

Yeah, I love mine more every time I plug in. I've never regretted taking it out to a gig. It always has everything I need, it's just an incredibly engineered and voiced tool. It's as much a musical instrument as any guitar I plug into it.

The amp arrived yesterday. I had a few hours to spend with it, getting familiar with its voice and controls. I have a well broken in Celestion Gold. I had to experiment and see how that sounded. I mounted it inside the Cure, and after a few minutes of playing, I realized this was not the right speaker for me in this amp. I loaded the Z ceramic back in the Cure and the sound was back!
This morning I did install a NOS 5AR4 rectifier, and replaced V1 with a vintage RCA 5751. This warmed the amp up a touch and gave the top end a slightly rounder tone. In all I am amazed at this amp. Whether my tele or strat, this amp shines. The ability to coax so many flavors of tones out of this amp is unbelievable.
This amp is an instant classic, as others have mentioned. Although I loved all my other Z amps, I don't regret my decision in the least. All things considered, this amp helps me out a lot. Thanks for all the comments. Carl
