Love this speaker with the master at 2 or 3 oclock (everything else set at or around noon) but its a really loud speaker. Id like to be able to use roughly the same settings but with a lower db sensitivity speaker. I tried a couple of webers and eminence but they just didnt have the nice mid thing going on like the V30. They didnt cut through the mix when playing live like the V30.
So I basically would like a slightly less loud V30. Is a Greenback what Im looking for?

No, I don't think a greenback can handle the Therapy wattage. The greenback would also break up much sooner. A Creamback can handle the wattage and it sounds good at lower volumes. Like you mentioned, it won't cut like the V30. I've stuck with the V30 because of that reason.

I've been around the mountain a couple of times with speakers for my Therapy and keep coming back to a V30, open back Z 1x12. Maybe you should consider an attenuator. Mine works well with a Brake-Lite. It sounds great.

Before I try anything else, I think I am going to try a set of 6V6. The only question is TAD or JJ..
Opinions welcome.

I've had good luck with a WGS Veteran 30. Their version of an "improved" Vintage 30. I like the way it sounds with the Therapy and it's a bit less efficient so less overall volume. As far as "improved" sound - YMMV ... But it works for me and others here and it's about $80 ... I bought mine at Musician's "Fiend" at 15% off with free delivery. Also ... Brake Lite is a great investment ... Helps control volume and maintain the tone. wgsusa.com/vet30

Sounded fine in my bedroom though. Have you used it live?

Yes I've used it live... I almost always use my brake lite to tame the volume ... And we are definitely a LOUD band.
I ended up getting a WGS Veteran at the recommendation of a couple of members on this board.

Get a WGS Vet 30. Clone speaker with less db’s. Love love love it with the Therapy. I tried greens, creams, golds, emminence speakers, etc.

I never played out with my brake lite SA and the Therapy. If it’s not cutting turn up the volume and use the EQ accordingly. It ended my speaker hunt with the Therapy but that’s just me. I also tried it with the Ghia but did not like the results. For the Ghia I rested with a creamback.
