I've been looking for quite some time now. The Cure Demos have great American rock sounding distortion! But I also want a loud clean Bakersfield sound for playing Country , deep reverb for Surf. The sparkling Fender sound. I don't think the Z-Lux would quite get me there either. I guess it's hard to have it all in one amp. Maybe I need two

Yep the EZG would be a great place to start.

If you're anywhere near S.E. Michigan on August 26th we're having a little mini-ZFest where you could test out the amps. We have EZG50, Cure, Z-Lux, just waiting to be played.

i just bought a cure and love it. my EZG went into storage and will likely end up on the Buy/Sell section sooner rather than later. With that being said, the EZG is great, just LOUD.

Thanks for your replies. I like this forum. A lot of helpful Z junkies. Though I'm more confused than before. I got to try them myself to see if I can get some good sounding twang .
The more I listen and read, the more I'm attracted to the something versatile like the Z-Lux. It has the boost footswitch, tremolo, 20/40w switch I wish it had a wetter sounding reverb to top it off.

Never having played a Z-lux, but having two 6V6 Z amps, I can pretty much guarantee that the Z-lux at the 40 watt setting will get you to your destination safely. My Remedy at 40 watts just thumps with a C-gold or Creamback. You should not be disappointed!
