Are you miking the amps with SM57s? If so, are you getting much of a signal with them facing down like that? I don't know a whole lot about miking amps so maybe you can teach me something new.

The amps were loud enough onstage, but it was outdoors (small street party) so our bass player/singer/soundguy wanted some of the guitar signal through the mains/monitors to cover more area. I'm no expert but it seemed to work. Sound guys feel free to chime in. Cheers

Mike, next time I am in Ottawa, I am coming to your place. The beverages will be cold and the amps will be hot!

how do you like that wireless unit? Recent addition...wasn't working at the show, but did some research and it needed a firmware update from Shure's website. I did the update on Sunday and I'll try it out at rehearsal this week. Very solid unit, and a rechargeable battery (like a cell phone). I think I will like it. Good idea to get on email lists, since I would have received notice of the required update. Lesson learned. Cheers!

I think I'd be happy with just one of these. Two must be outrageous. I'm envious.
Oh, and hanging 57's down like that works just fine. Done it many times when there weren't enough stands to go around.

DO you use the ocd a lot since you have a dirt amp?? I haven't used it since I got the Cures. However, I keep it on my board in case (unlikely) one of the amps goes down mid-show. In that situation, I would run the amp clean and use the OCD for dirt.
