Guys,
I apologize if this has been covered but I did a search and didn't find much...Do you find yourself using your Z-Lux more at Full Power or more at Half Power? I end up probably at 50/50 between the two. How say you, now that you've had your Z-Lux for a while?
Bonus question: Do you have any concern about unequal power tube wear, and is that involved in your choice?

I love the clean tone. I have the AirBrake to control room volume too.

I have not had the chance to gig mine yet, but I know if I did I would use full power and no airbrake. Around the casa I use mine on half power and use a shorted plug in the trem jack so I can control reverb and trem with the knobs--I really like this and found out you could do this here on this wonderful forum. Such an incredible amp--I feel very lucky to own one.

Mostly on 20 watts because I mostly use it at home or at band practice, and 20 Z watts, as we know, is still pretty dang loud. I've used the 40 watt setting at a couple of gigs though, and a few times at practice, and it's glorious--definitely preferable if you can get away with it.

I'm running mine at 20 watts at church right now. Our church seats about 300-400 I'd say. It's a loud 20 watts for sure. I use it mostly for cleans. I use the Maz 8 for everything else. I love both amps so much. It's hard to pick just one to use, so I'll keep running them both at church as long as they let me.

Full power. Tried it at 20 watts at church and ended up going back to 40 watts. Even at home I usually use the 40 watts Setting. I just turn the master down. I have tried the 20 watt setting at home and it does sound sweet. I will have to try the 20 watt setting some more.

Full power, almost always. Not worried about tube life. I remember reading something the Doc said about the power tubes...when in 20 watt mode, it's still using all 4 tubes, just half the power from them. It doesn't turn off two of the tubes, to put it another way. I've been running mine daisy chained with a '64 Super Reverb, all knobs set at noon on both amps and it sounds flippin' amazing!

I have a JAZ so I think I can vote on this. I like it better at full power. I have lower wattage amps to use anyway when that is necessary. The amp sounds better at full power but if it was my only amp I would probably wind up USING it more at half power.

I've always used mine at half power because I always get told to turn down!

I've always used mine at half power because I always get told to turn down! I hear you brother Thats Church. I get that too sometimes. But I still stay at 40 watts and now really control everything from my guitar. I just set the master and the volume where I can hear myself good and then usually take it from there. I like the clean headroom at 40 watts.

I like it at full power and will always use it that way unless the room is really small. But I use it mostly as a clean on the edge of breakup rig. Even when I have used it at half power, late in the night, I always end up flipping it back to full power, when the band starts to get really loud!

Love the sound of full power but rarely take it off half. Most of the rooms I play are pubs and I get a perfect amount of headroom at the lower setting. If I get to play any festivals or larger rooms this year though I will give full power a shot.

I leave mine on full power and use my Airbrake if I need less. Generally have the Airbrake four clicks down here at home. Amp sounds fabulous...

No idea I could do that with my Super. I don't have a Lux but I think I'll try this with my Cure when it comes in.

Yeah, half power does everything I need it to do. Now if I was playing outdoors and could open it up, I might flip the switch.
