Like it says, not a Z. This is my 1964 Fender Tremolux all stock except caps, all blue ajax are there. Matching 2-10 Cab with original speakers.
Settings: Vibrato channel: Low imput, VOL. 3, TREBLE 6, BASS 6, Vibrato OFF.
Guitar 1989 Fender American Standard Deluxe Stratocaster all stock .
EFFECTS: Dan Electro Dan Echo - no mods.
Guitar, Echo, Amp in that order.
Guitar Vol on 10
Recorded on a Tascam DRVII MK II on the arm of the chair. Back track played thru PC Speakers. No MIC on amp. Staight out into the room.
Excuse the playing, this track popped up on Utube so I grabbed guitar and went with it.
Have several Z/z but sometimes I get a jones for my old Fenders. Guitar switches to different settings to see how it sounds. No adjustments made. It simply is what it is.
Maybe I am biased..pardon the pun, but I think the tone is real good considering the head/cab are 52 yrs old.
I guess my point here is that Z/z are the only other amps I own, sold ALL the rest, only ones longer are my Fenders.
Z/z are the only amps that IMHO can cover how I play most of the time, which is about this clean. Sometimes a bit more
but for the most part I am a clean player and most of the other amps I had just couldn;t come close to what I base my sound on.
FWTW...I always found it odd that when I used to have old Marshalls, a great 68 plexi 50 watt. They used to sound great clean at least to me, yet most never used that feature...strange things..lol.
I hadn;t played this amp in a while , as witnessed by it being a Tremolux and I don;t use it...lol..
In any event, ramble over, no intention of upsetting the apple cart.
I just like the tone, unaltered except for a touch of delay.
I also would like to mention that pretty much the standard settings are 666 or 663 in that area.
In a fact finding comparison I can say this. Z/z are not Fender clones though some can hit in that ballpark. Z28 and EZG, Therapy, JAZZ. MAZ38NR can get there too. Z/z are a unique thing.
Blows me away how an old amp can sound , to me at least the way this sounds...hard to describe, classic Black Face? maybe...but what exactly is that? If its this, and I believe it is then its easy to understand why old fenders are getting a bit pricy. I believe Z amps will enter that catagory as well. Which to me, is a very rare thing. Sound Cloud thins things out abit so there is not as much treble in real time. I suppose they have to thing the files some for obvious reasons.
FYI....phones if ya got em, crank it up...lol..
