Actually, although I usually can't just leave things alone,I am totally satisfied with the Therapy, don't feel the need for an EQ bypass.changing power tubes, and mic placement, guitars,I have a lot of interesting sounds already. I'll say it again-treble zero'd out, master as you like, volume at 3 o'clock is the sound of ROCK-months into it and still LOVE it.I hardly change the amp settings, just lower the Guitar volume. Walt, I'll check out your settings. I think I am a hopeless Circuit Mod Head. Like many others, my electrical and electronics background puts me into a certain category of geek. Honestly, I am absolutely enamored with the Therapy and cannot even tap the capabilities that exist in front of me. It seems that my custom projects and mod projects are driven by anxiety and stress, and it seems that something is missing unless I have a somewhat meaningful electronics project going on. I have to seriously resist doing what Albert just did, although I am sure it is simple. SaulGoodman! I'm just the opposite I mod stuff because I'm bored but I usually leave these amps alone ... THEY ARE JUST THAT GOOD !!! this was a simple lift the wire and check it out mod I will probably not do it until Doc comes out with the official version and have him do it ..

I guess when I think EQ bypass, I'm thinking of the tone controls as cut devices. When you bypass them, you're getting full frequencies and full gain ranges for each spectrum. For some reason on the Therapy the B M T seem to add so much I assumed this wouldn't work. So really the bypass means B M T on full....hmmmm. Seems like this amp has SOOO much brightness available at full Treble and Middle that T could be shrill.... with no experience having any amp with EQ bypass....how do you think it would be since you've some experience with the MAZ bypass.

It's hard to describe, because the sound is more than just an amp with its tone stack wide open. You're hearing the amp's natural voicing before the tone stack was added, plus, you're getting a gain boost from removing the tone stack from the circuit. Any controls (TMB, trem, 'verb, etc.) take gain away from the output. You're getting all of the tone from the amp, plus additional gain. I can approximate the EQ bypass on the Maz by hitting the front end a little harder and adding some gain with an RC Booster dialed in for some treble, but the feel is definitely not the same. I wasn't a big proponent of EQ bypass at first, but once I got the variable footswitch and took some extra time to dial the amp in so the spike in volume wasn't as great, I'm hooked now. It's exclusively my lead boost for the Maz now.
