Blonde combo on it's way to San Diego via Chicago Music Exchange. Buddy's vids from the Dallas guitar show pushed me over the edge. I hope he gets a kick back of some sort...he has sold me (and I'm sure many others) on quite a few Z amps. It'll be interesting to compare/contrast the Z-Lux to the real '64 Super Reverb I have. I'll post some thoughts/sounds/videos once I get her this week.

Congrats on a sweet amp....I saw that blonde over at CME and was thinking how nice it looked. Glad it went to you.

Congrats. Will be interested in comparison to Super as I and others think of the amp as being in the Deluxe camp.

Congrats! I think I might be caving after I sell off a few guitars. I was looking at the blonde combo my self. Are there 2 different color grill cloths? The brown cloth on the Dr. Z website looks darker than the one on humbucker. Hard to tell on pictures, thought you might know since you just ordered one. Jealous.

I do believe that the blonde comes with either a darker, completely brown grill or the standard tan/black weave, which is what I chose.

I used to have a drip edge Silverface Super Reverb, a '68, and to me the 'Lux is more 'open' for lack of a better term. The thing I remember about my old SR was with the 4x10's it had a big thump to it. The 'Lux has similar authority but it's less compressed and more touch sensitive. A side-by-side A/B comparison will be great...looking forward to hearing your comparison when you've spent some time with the Z-Lux. It's a terrific amp.

That's a great analogy of the Z-Lux compared to the Sr. I felt the same way about the Z-lux and the Vibro King. The king sounded compressed and dull compared to the Z-Lux Z-lux was as you said more open and touch sensitive.

Another congrats! You also choose the best color! I have also considered caving lately and sending my Swart down the road... I had the JAZ back when they first came out and it sounded really good so I have somewhat of an idea of what I'd be getting into tone wise. Enjoy the new amp!
