Once we have received all our Z-Gear, we will own three "matched" sets. (Single Father. one daughter 20, one son 19, we all play.).
A. Carmen Ghia Head 1x12 Convertible Alnico Blue
B. Stingray Head 2x12 Open Back Alnico Blues
C. Route 66 Head Z-Best "standard"
The three of us will each love each "set" - like owning good dogs.
We love playing music mostly from 1960-1970, and now write a little on our own.
My dumb question to this fine forum, (while we wait patiently for the call), is:
Between "A" , "B" and "C", which will get the most hours of use at home?
On the "small stage", it will depend upon the gig, the band, etc.
But for personal plug 'n play, to where will the patch cord be magically drawn?
Our basement is sound-poof enough, and no neighbors ever complain.
So "A" , "B" and "C"? (eg. for Dad at 55 years young, I think it's "C" for me).
Or is this just goofy?

I think it will depend on your mood. And it will depend on the type of music you're working with. If you are trying to get some authentic early Beatles tones, you're going to be drawn to the Stang Ray like a magnet, for example. All three amps have a character that will appeal to you for certain types and styles of music. Nice setup!

That's a tough one. I have lots of heads and lots of cabs and what I have done is kind of made a home on my "WALL OF TONE" for each amp then I made a 12 gauge 10' Speaker wire and I connect it to whatever head and cab I feel like at that given point... I do find that in my Studio I play the Ghia quite a bit more as I get a nice drive without the pedals and it's clean enough for me to play along with CDs too. The StangRay also gets some decent use, but I can't wait until I have an outdoor gig as that is what is coming with me. I don't have a Route 66... yet, but I'll be getting one in the near future for sure. At any rate you'll be having yourself a ball!!

Dr. Z should sell you one of each head & cab and let you pay for them over 10 years....;-)

You'll probably rotate thru them. I have a Sting Ray, a Ghia, and a Z-28. I'll play one for a few days, and then when I feel like a change, I switch to another.
