Hey guys, I love my EZG50 head. I keep finding new sounds from it. It so nice to finally have an amp where the EQ seems to actually do something! But I'm wondering what overdrive pedals you guys use to drive it? So far I've tried and original Marshall Blues Breaker, Way Huge Pork Loin, Catalinbread F5 and a Earthquaker Devices Hoof Reaper. They all sound pretty good - apart from a treble booster (Catalinbread Naga Viper).
The best is the Blues Breaker - I can pretty much leave that on and ride the volume.
I'm toying with getting a Tubescreamer pedal too. Does anyone use one with their EZG?
Or what other pedals have you found the work well to drive this beast.

For a great ts tone, the best I've found is the Maxon OD 820. It gives you the little jump in mids you need to fatten up a bit, but really retains the natural sound of the amp. Does great clean boost too since the drive knob is a dual blend knob.

Z Overdrive, Xotic BB, Gain Changer and of course, TS 808.

Wampler Velvet Fuzz for distortion and fuzz, Jetter GS 124 for overdrive, Jetter Train Drive for the neck pickup on yer Lester, any good clean boost. But really it's hard to go wrong with the EZG; I've tried a bunch of dirt pedals with it and so far it's liked them all.

The TIM pedal sounds absolutely great with the EZG. Can just ride the volume knob with this pedal. Quite transparent with an upper mid boost which is needed.

Seems as though any pedal of your preference is going to work well with this amp.
I recently went through trying around 15 different drive pedals (Himmelstrutz, Barber, Fulltone OCD, JHS, Bearfoot, Timmy, etc.)
It's actually amazing how much overlap there is; granted there are only so many types of circuits/diodes/clipping that are used to achieve these drive/distortion effects, and while some of them definitely have their own inherent voicing, I was able to get most of them to be fairly similar somewhere within their drive and tonal range.
I know JHS gets a lot of grief on various boards, but I sold everything everything except for the JHS Morning Glory, Moonshine, Sweet Tea, and Barber Gain Changer.

Yeah,, Moring glory is good, Gain Changer is good... my Favorite go to is the Lovepedal Amp 11. We live in great times with so many options and quality tones.

I use an Analogman King of Tone and an Analogman Silver Mod TS-9 in mine, and it sounds outstanding.
