Today, I was playing my Ray through amy little 1x12 Blue, and I was just awestruck by how tight this amp is. The "slew rate" is so high that it's almost like the amp is reading your mind.
Anyway, this amp is exceptional for rhythm playing for that reason, and with the controls set as I normally have them, very balanced.
Then I had an idea: what would this thing sound like through FOUR of these single Blues?
Or maybe a PAIR of Z-bests??
Anyone ever run a Ray into a 4x12, especially one with low-power, hi efficiency speakers like Blues?

I just got my Stingray today. But I've run it through a Marshall 4x12 loaded with Celestion Greenbacks. It sounded good, but very loud. An attenuator is a must!

My son currently uses a Stingray with a Fender Supersonic cab with 4 Vintage 30's.
Sounds great. Loud but very tight.
That said, he has a Dr. Z open-back 2x12 with twin Alnico Blues coming.
I suspect that it will sound much nastier. ;-)
Check the "Pictures" part of this forum for a look-see - under Carmen Ghia I think....

I run my Stang Ray through a Peavey 4x12 which sounds good but I am waiting for my 2x12 open back Dr Z to arrive. I got the head without the bottom oh well it is worth the wait. The Dr Z is loaded with blues so the tone is going to pop I'm sure.

I have played it through a fender 4x12 with v30's and a EVH with heritage G12m's. I liked it more with the v30's it was LOUD through both. The V30's seemed tighter with more sparkle and more of the VOX chime. Not as good as my gold but honestly not bad. Before I got my gold I played several of my Z's with the v30 setup and it really makes them rock.
