I started out with the gain way up because that is how I've seen it in most of the review videos. I've since turned down the gain in Red (Marshall) mode to about 1:00 because it acts more amp-like there. I still run the Green (Dumble) mode gain almost wide open. As the instructions state the Jali control is very interactive with the gain control. I really like how touch sensitive this pedal is. I could leave it on most of the time and just use the volume control on the guitar. By the way I have the Twin Custom and things get really interesting when I stack both side together.

I had an issue with this pedal and I wanted to wait until it was resolved before I posted. I was pleased with my first impression of it but after two days (approx. 1 hr use) one side of the pedal ceased to function. There was no output. I contacted Mr. Tanabe and he instructed me to return it for repair and said he would refund the shipping. I did this. It took about a week-and-a-half for it to ship both ways and be repaired. Mind you, this was from Kansas City to Japan and back. The pedal operates fine now and again I am pleased with it. The problem was a failed gain pot. Electronic components do fail sometimes. I have worked in manufacturing QA so I understand this and when it happens it is usually very early in it's life. All is well now. I am satisfied with how Tanabe-san resolved this and would deal with him again.

That's great news Zpilot. Tanabe-san's customer service is excellent. Everyone no matter who they are is a V.I.P.
