Just got my Stingray Head with 2X12, loaded with Blues. WOW. Glad I made this decision. It's everything I thought it would be and more. It is LOUD, but there's not such thing as a free lunch. If you want "big" sounding tone, it usually comes with volume! I'll need an airbrake or weber mini mass. Sounds pretty nice through my 1X12 G12H30 too, and the BB goes well with this amp. Has anyone experimented with "10s and the Stingray? Any other pedals to try?

I ran my Stingray through a Maz Jr's 2x10's once and it was so good that since, I've kept my eye open for a Z 2x10 cabinet. The NEW size convertible 2x10 cabinet could definitely be in my future. I would suggest you try a pair of Greenbacks as well. Surprisingly, that is one of the best sounding speakers I've heard with a 'Ray OR a Maz...IMO of course.

When I tried the amp out before buying it, I played it through one of Z's 4x10 cabs and it sounded great. Really suprised me actually. I ended up liking the 2x12 with blues better for the tones I was going for, but I could see alot of people liking this amp with 10's.

I really like the 10's in my Maz18jr , so I thought I would try to find a 2x10 cab to go with my Ray that is on the way, there was a blonde one at the show so I scored it! I'll Let you guys know how it sounds!

The Ray is here and it sounds killer through the 2x10 Z cab as well as any cab I plug it into!!!

I like them all , for different applications. As far as the low end goes, I think the 10's are more focused. My opinion is probably bias because I like the 10's in my Maz18jr and that is what I have been gigging with and been use to hearing . I hope this helps.

My son's Stingray sits atop a Fender Supersonic 4x12 - four Celestion Vintage 30's in Baltic Birch.
Although our next few cabs will be Dr. Z's, the Fender sounds tight, and loud.
We bought it only because the Dr. Z Stingray head was "in stock", but no appropriate Dr. Z cabs at that moment in time.
No regrets. The Fender is what it is, and actually "matches" the colour of the head quite closely - will post pix soon.
Now if Dr. Z built an enhanced version of the Marshall 1960TV, I suspect it would soon go on Xmas wish lists.

I've been dying to try my Stang with a 4x10 cab. I think this thing would sound killer through some vintage Jensens in a 4x10 setup.
That said, I'm utter pleased with the current sound, so I don't feel any urgency to try anything, really.
