Can't believe it....I loved the combo so much, I had to have the head version as well for tonal variance & options with my Two Rock cabs. late last nite, while window gazing The Gear Page......a mint black out ZLux head appeared ....also listed on Reverb. The "make offer" icon was active. Hmmm. "Man, if I jack around too long and make an offer, someone can grab it out from under me". I bought it!.....I'm so stoked
selling some serious quality amps and gear now....stay posted in classifieds

I saw that on Reverb! My first thought was, "I should pick this up and see what the fuss is about. If it's not my bag, I can easily sell it and not lose any money." It's a sickness...

And a highly contagious disease at that. Thing is, it's so fun to be ill.

It arrived.....nothing like new amp day "Eminence Legend" speakers are GREAT replacements for the old flubby Bf and Silver Faced Fenders i.e. Utahs, Oxfords etc....... So, I was thinking about throwing one in the oval ported cab....and marrying it up to this new Zlux head......since its in that vein BadAss my friends. Baaaad booty cranken amazing
So, what we have here my friends is a versatile little monster. Have fun experimenting. Just loved mine in rehearsal today

I hear you brother I can't wait to gig with mine. So far all I can go by is home tone. But I'm not complaining I'm digging this amp. It's cool that you have the head and can experiment With different speakers. I bet it would sound monsterous through a Z 4/10 cab with some golds.

I'm sure it would. I'd even like to hear it through a 15". Sadly sold one of my Zingaros today.....as my own personal rule is "one in, one out" and I normally don't get too attatched to gear....but this one really was a quality amp, and some personal history as well. (I still have another tho in head only) so the Zlux's are KICKEN some off the team.

Today I threw in a Austin Speaker Works "ASW" KTS70 into my cab. This speaker really sounds amazing with this amp. I've used a EV Classic 300 Watt, Eminence 1258 Legend, (really good) now, the ASWKTS70. These are loved by many for many reasons, and clearly my favorite, as its very even and balanced among the frequency bands Nothing wrong with the original Z speaker in the combo, but since I have two Asw's...I'm throwing it in the combo and living with it for awhile. Excellent choice if your experimenting! All the best

All the best Glad you're digging the ASW's and I normally love to experiment with speaker swaps and love AlNiCo's specifically, however, the Z speaker leaves nothing to be desired in my ears. The whole combo as a whole actually. Enjoy that head!

So it's kinda like that. Just fun to dabble. Thanks for jumpin in. I'm just so lovin this amp. I really am

Ok.....tonites rehearsal played the Zlux through my 4x10 cab loaded w Docs blue labels. Very woody , organic Big volume tones. Just a monster....... I almost sold the cab today on Craigslist since its been sitting.
Thought maybe I should give it a chance with this configuration. Band mate couldn't believe how great it sounded......I've sold so many amps now because of this amp. I'm really really happy with it. Thick, creamy overdriven tones, and sorry for the cliche' but it cut through the mix with ease and clarity.
Why Doc did you had to make "this" thing.......makin me re-think and dump the others I worked so hard to discover. This is your beautiful mess
