An Amazon Studio series based on the book The Man in the High Castle (1963) by American writer Philip K. ****. It's alternative history novel set in 1962, fifteen years after an alternative ending to World War II in which the war lasted until 1947, it concerns intrigues between the victorious Axis Powers—Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany—as they rule over the former United States, as well as daily life under the resulting totalitarian rule. The Man in the High Castle won the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1963.
Alexa Davalos is stunning, I first saw her in the TV Series Angel way back. Good to see she has a lead role in a series.
It's interesting seeing Nazi and Japanese rule in the US and the consequences of what that would have meant. It's very fictional of course with a surreal twist but it doesn't get too far out there and remains intriguing through out the series.
Overall worth watching.

Have it on my watch list. My son says it's one of the best shows he's watched in a while.

I thought it was good-true to the novel, even with a lot of changes.I found the ambiguity of the novel's ending annoying-but Phillip K **** intended a sequal, but was so disgusted by Nazi's that he just couldn't get into that head space again. That makes sense reading the book, that it wasn't the whole story. The 2 themes of the story are the ambiguity of reality, out perception of it,and the human spirit and how it reacts to the world around it.The show gives a more complete feeling ending-although it is still trippy!
Bookwise,I preffered Phillip Roth's 'the plot against america' for an alternate ww2 ending story.
