I have a wonderful Carbon Copy on my pedals board, but find I am forever changing settings between songs (I only use it sparingly for certain songs where it is absolutely needed) but I'm fed up having to bend down and twiddle knobs .....and sometimes I forget!! So, I was watching a great YouTube of the wonderful Don Felder the other day - a sort of rig rundown - and low and behold he says exactly teh same thing!! Then he explains that, in reality, he only needs two basic settings for his live rig, so he bought another, identical, delay pedals, set them both up, and away he goes! Genius! (okay, maybe not genius, but to this dumb ox, it never occurred to me to do this, doh!! I was thinking of getting some dreaded digital thing from Line6 or some such.........) So, my next purchase will be a used Carbon Copy - EASY!!

I have a TC Alter Ego X4, which allows you to switch very easily between three presets. I have it set up for a long delay, a medium, and a slap/doubler. Sounds great for most of what I do. Drawbacks--it's big, and if you want delays without a fair amount of modulation you'll need to download some clean toneprints. Love the TC delays for their tone, versatility and ease of use. But yeah--a second CC makes perfect sense.

The BBE Two Timer has two analog delays in the same enclosure....maybe a better way than two...for board space? ... Anyway an affordable option. Used around here for 40-50 bucks

This is exactly why I originally bought an aNaLoG.MaN ARDX20 dual analog delay. One pedal with two channels, each with its own full set of knobs (and equal ranges in delay). Sounds awesome, but...
I kind of wanted different tones (one darker & one brighter) for my longer "regular" delay and for my shorter slapback delay. So I ended up with Carbon Copy for darker and an Aqua Puss for shorter, brighter slapback. KeithA's on the right track with his photo above.

You could get a Strymon El Capistan or Brigadier and add a favorite switch to store a second setting. Also you could get a Diamond Memory Lane Jr which if you hold down the TAP switch, it doubles the delay time. I set it for a regular delay and then switch on the fly to more of a short delay.

The ARDX20 also came to mind!
Also, I don't think there's anything wrong with having 2 delays on the board, if you have the space. Even running 2 delays at the same time can be pretty fun and fitting for certain genres of music, especially for swells and more atmospheric ambient type stuff.

Diamond MLjr for analog and mod-ed delays, strymon el cap with fav switch for tape and slapback. Works great for me.

Just to to be clear - all great ideas guys, really - but I am very happy with the Carbon Copy I have, so i'll be adding a second pedal rather than trading it for a 2 stage pedal, even if many of those suggested look great! I guess the old saying holds true "if I wanted to get to there, I wouldn't have started here........" I guess maybe a cheap digital Mooer might do the job for slap back echo, rather than spending money on another Carbon Copy...........or a quick visit to eBay and Gumtree......... let's see.

Pete, I previously had two Carbon Copy's on my board. I liked the "reverb-ish" feel from the CC better than my actual reverb pedal TC-HOF so I took the HOF off the board and used 2 CC's. But alas, everything changes and I sold the 2nd CC to Paul Bluzman (RIP Brother). I think you'll really like having a pair of them....

I have a T Rex Room Mate stuck on my board, which is only used in very acoustically dead venues, and only then set on minimum......it takes up a LOT of pedal board real estate, so I'll sell that and get a Mooer Reverb pedal......which leaves some good real estate for another CC

OK you have me curious now. I had thought about the 2 delay pedal deal but never pursued it. Now I'm gonna have the put my Wampler Faux Echo on my board with my Carbon Copy and give it a whirl.
