I Keep checking in to see what new twists my Maz 8 siblings have found to comment on here on the forum........but I am getting a bit frustrated as there seems nothing new to say or anyway nothing new said.
Endless threads on the ZLux and the ZWreck and always one or two new lines on the rest of the series but for some strange reason hardly anything on my beloved Maz 8's. And here I am contemplating buying a third combo simply because it is so, well perfect. One not loud enough - try two.......
So here it is : Lets give a shout out for the genius of the Maz 8 - the best amp I have ever had the privilege to play through. Chiming, musical and the greatest exponent ever of the nebulous concept that is the 'sweet spot' for mere mortals in realistic gigging situations - in fact pure aural heaven in a box. Wow!!

MAZ 8 is fantastic in a 2 amp rig. I've used it w the Ghia live and it makes for a really wide sound. I go Triode and set it up as the dirtier of the 2.

Truly many of the Z designs have less chitter chatter going on about them....MAZ 8 has always seemed extra cool to me. Lucky fellow to have them.

My first and maybe my favorite Z amp. At least, the most fitted to my needs. I have a big Therapy head + 112 cab in the same room. It sounds bigger, it sounds fuller, but there is a creamy thing going on with the Maz 8 overdrive into the Scumback Scumnico which I really enjoy. A Z-Lux should be here too in a few weeks. I d'on't know yet if I'll keep the Therapy (small apartment), but I know the Maz will stay!

It's the Z amp I've owned the longest, and I keep finding new sounds in it. For some reason I don't think I ever ran the Cut control all the way off. Tried it today and it sounds great. I always used less Treble and more Cut. The other way around seems to be better.

Well, the 18 gets a lot of action and I expect a lot of what's said there applies to the 8? Just stop by some time. 18 players are a very friendly bunch!

It was good enough for Joe Walsh to use all over his Analog Man album. I love mine, as Eric mentioned great in a 2 amp situation live.. I can't see myself ever parting with her.

8 and Mini. Low wattage - big sound. The band still thinks I'm too loud! They do think I'm tonefull. ME

I was playing mine on my usual home setting (triode mode with Brake Lite on 3) with a Nash Tele (with Lollars) yesterday. Working on songs for a performance of mid-1960s tunes in a couple weeks. Sounded great. Crank up the reverb for surf instrumentals! Will be back to it today
