A couple of guys mentioned X-Ray, but there is already an amp with that name made by Adam Stark ( a killer little tweed machine).
Too bad the other guys are forcing the change, as Stingray was a very cool choice.

The Good Doctor could have the "Formula"....
kinda similar to/ like the "prescription" theme that brad helped re-design and has a car theme to boot.. ;D

I hope Doc likes one of our suggestions. Some pretty good ideas have been offered. I'm really anticipating the announcement, especially when he picks my suggestion and gives me a blonde head with a hardwood panel and two matching 2 x 10 cabs! (kidding!) I'm a dreamer! Heck, I still play powerball!

You know I do like the name AZ-30 I was think about some name that conjures up thoughts of early Beatles and VOX AC-30's , Liverpool would have been great but my good friend Kenny has that already, no other UK city rolls of the tongue as nice. Brad is working on a new name , and I do like the look of the front panel with a nice cursive written name on it. DR.Z Doc, How about "Cavern Club" or "Hamburg" or "Revolver"?

Hey Doc how about the MZ Roadster.............bring em' out next year in a limited edition British Racing Green tolex with cane basketweave, chrome grill with black knobs and writing. My partner is a professional designer and was shortlisted by Sachi and Sachi to work on the World Cup soccer campain for Toyota. I could even get her to find a type face that fits with the whole 60's Beatles theme if you like. Her two websites are www.moonsaildesign.com and www.dominiquefalla.comAZ30 is ok but for what it's worth I think it's a little too close to AC30. MZ30 I think is a better alternative. Good luck in finding a new name, you could even call it the Beatle in keeping with the Fab Four theme and it wouldn't change a thing,it's still an awesome sounding amp. The Good Doctor could have the " Formula".... kinda similar to/ like the " prescription" theme that brad helped re-design and has a car theme to boot.. ;D Yeah, I was trying to come up with something that carried on the healing powers of Dr. Z amps: "Medicine" left a bad taste in my mouth, "Vaccine" stung a bit, and "Antidote" (although it made me feel better) only missed being "Antelope" by 3 letters. "Formula" shows promise, because it conjures images of Dr. Z and Brad Paisley coming up with the recipe. ...Reminds me of the milkshakes my mom would make for us on movie nights with fresh peaches or bananas. We begged her to make "Concoction" and we would drink it with our popcorn.

First of all, what a bummer on having to go through the trouble of a new name. Kind of taints the otherwise stellar reputation of a fine company at Music Man/Ernie Ball.
To wrap the whole British/time period/Doctor/legal battle into one package, how about the "Dr. No" amp. The movie came out in '62, great year for the AC-30 AND it hints at the "No-caster" legal battle. Just a thought...

You know, if the Doc named an amp after something James Bond, I think I would have to buy it just on principle alone!

I'm not sure that AZ 30 will be Doc's choice, but if it is I would be obligated to own one ;D ArnieZ

Well no more calls we have a winner.....
Maybe, I'm having a lawyer search into the new name first.
Brad picked it and it was also supplied by Kevin from east Ky. the name ......... Manta Ray, thank you both so much.
Should have a INTERNET slang name of ' Ray which will include early Stingray amps.
So if it's available to register I will and new ones will be a couple of weeks away , waiting for art approval and etching new front panels.
Thanks to you all for your suggestions I liked many, but I wanted to hear from Brad to keep the connection.

Doc...congrats on the new name...and I will throw up a little prayer to the amp gods that the new name can be stamped onto the face of the amp with no further legal frustration.
Good Luck!!

I was too excited when I posted that. I've never won a thing in my life, besides a real big pumpkin when I was a kid haha. I had actually called Willcuts about that blonde stingray a while back, but I'm determined to have me a Mantaray, now. Dr Z, It's an honor to have named what I believe to be the best sounding amp to come out in quite some time. I thank you and Brad both for picking mine.
