I think "LT-1" would be a good name. One of the best motors GM ever made. The "Judge", "GTO", "Firebird", "Super Sport" would be good also.

My middle name is actually Ray (not Raymond). It could be the BillyRay! (another kidder!) I called it the X-ray earlier but am still partial to AZ-30.

With "DZ30" you could nickname it "Dizzy", or call it the Dizzy30.

Well, I've been reading this forum for several weeks, but this post pushed me to register. I've owned a number of Z amps, and met thte good Dr. at Willcutt's a couple of years ago.
Here are my suggestions:
XK-Z.................keeps the british flavor and car theme
Speedster........the German kind of course
Carrera.............my current ride, logo looks good in script
Z06...................the ultimate Corvette
Barracuda.........old muscle car theme
DB-5..................another vintage British car (007's ride)
Charger.............the General Lee/Southern rock the
The Hemi...........lots of stuff under the hood
Now I'll have to own one.

The MantaRay. It's pretty much the same thing, rather you're talking fish or cars or amps. It wouldn't be too much of a change, which in my newbie oppinion would be a good thing.

Hey, so has Dr. Z officially stopped using the name Stringray and is not creating anymore until the name is changed? or is there a given time for him to change the name? My thoughts...I believe Z-Ray is the closest thing to Stringray. Thanks. I sure would like to have the title "Stingray" on it.

My thoughts...I believe Z-Ray is the closest thing to Stringray. Thanks. I sure would like to have the title "Stingray" on it. Last I heard from the Dr. is that there was 3 Stingray's on the bench, and that would be the last of the "Stingray". Don't ask, they are already sold, unless you can find a dealer with one that isn't spoken for. Z will #1 have to come up with a new name #2 have new face plates made. No given time, no offical new name. More news as it happens.

Hey Doc,
I'm terribly sorry to hear about the legal issue with the Stingray...it's too bad.
I *love* AZ-30. It leaves no misunderstanding as to who makes the amp and what the amp is all about....
However, you do seem to go with a car theme on alot of your amps....
So to that end, and being a Nash Bridges fan...I really like Barracuda. Or just 'Cuda
Some more suggestions:
Aston Martin Mustang Jaguar Cobra Viper Bentley
or
Beatle (which can have double reference as both pointing to volkswagon and the little band from liverpool)
Regardless, good luck thinking of a name....we're all excited to hear what you (and Brad) decide...

A couple of guys have mentioned Cobra, but with no explanation, and there's been no reaction. The full name of the car was the AC Cobra...it keeps the automotive theme, and the implied "AC " ties it to the Vox. Maybe even call it the "Cobra 30".
I also like AZ-30.
