Just got a Maz 18 reverb combo 1x12 used about a week ago, and I have noticed a couple of issues. When I use the "LO" input, the volume will randomly drop and come back up very strangely. At first, I thought it was a tube gone bad. So I switched out the EL84s for a pair Electro Harmonix. When I tried it again, I kept having the same issue, only then the volumed ceased completely or was just barely noticeable. So I decided I would try the "HI" input just to see if the same issue was happening, and to my surprise, the HI section was working fine. No volume drop at all.
I really don't know what to do in order to fix my amp. I sent an email to Dr Z repairs on monday and I haven't received a response yet. Figured posting on here might be worth it. Could it be an issue with a different tube? Is it something I can fix myself, or is it deeper than that?
Any info would be helpful and appreciated, thanks!

Does it have an effects loop? If so, jumper the input and output with a cable and see if it solves the problem. If it does, try spaying some deoxit in the jacks and on a plug and then insert it and remove it a couple of times. If no loop or it's still there after jumpering. Do the spray thing in the low input jack. Sounds like an oxidation problem to me.

I'm sure you will hear from the Z crew shortly , I suspect a contact on the jack is oxidized. If you are comfortable going inside the amp . spray the jack with contact cleaner. You could also try soaking a plug with the cleaner and insert/remove it several times in rapid succession , sometimes that will do it. I use Deoxit FWIW. (Didn't mean to reiterate what Marc said ^^ He typed faster than me )

No effects loop in mine. Interesting thought, I might try that in the morning.

Haha, thanks. I first need to find some Deoxit... It's just contact cleaner you said?

I must say I didn't receive an Email about a Lo input jack problem. But as others have stated it is a bad input jack. The shorting tab on the High Jack is intermittent, so it works with the cable plugged into to the Hi, but doesn't completely short when plugged into the Lo. Best to replace the jack, DeOxit will help but is just a band aid, and problem will reoccur.
The joys of buying used.

Thanks everyone for helping me out through all this.
Today I encountered a new problem, this time in the "HI" jack. No volume drop, but there seems to be this strange metallic noise that appears just behind my playing. It's not incredibly noticeable, but when I'm alone at home jamming on the amp I can hear it. Seems to be most noticeable when I play with reverb and delay. Any thoughts on what this could be?
