My band began recording our first proper LP last week. We tracked drums in three days and then I began my guitar parts (I play 75 percent rhythm guitar) I used my z28 for my main tone and my MAZ 18 for accent parts (super chimey parts). Wow. The results blew me away. The z28 was amazing. I had volume and treble dimed and bass rolled back a bit. Played a jazzmaster with an antiquity II neck pup for all of it. Mics chosen were a royer r-121 and an earthworks condenser. They ran through two bae 1066d's (neve 1073 clones). Just perfect.

I'll definitely post it up when it's all done. Maybe even some guitar-only clips.
The engineer wanted the purest signal path from guitar to recording so I didn't use any distortion/boost. The guitar did run through a van amps spring reverb unit on the way into the amp which was really cool.
The sound is true to life (due to the top of the line outboard gear) - very rich, dynamic and clear in the mix. The on-the-verge-of breakup tone that we all love about this amp is what I used as my clean tone so far and it really sounds beautiful.
