I picked up an M12 in surf green from our own Abandoned. Loving this amp much more than the Maz I had a few weeks ago. Just might be the perfect amp for me. I picked up a 1x12 cab from Humbucker Music and am loving this set up. Now I just have to build a decent pedalboard!

It's a GREAT amp. I bought one about a month and a half ago and absolutely love it. Ive also found that it is plenty of amp to gig in most venues as well for being only 12 watts.

Yep--super amp! Get you a good dirt pedal and a boost and you're good to go. Loves any guitar you can throw at it, and takes pedals as well as any amp I've ever played.

Right now I have a Timmy and a Strymon Timeline. I have a TC Reverb on the way, so I'll have the elementary basis covered. Looking into a medium gain drive right now. I like the stuff by Walrus, but I really am interested in checking out the new Z pedal when it comes out.

Don't overlook the Rockett Animal! killer plexi type pedal...
And the M12 eats it alive!

Running mine with a Gain Changer and a Fairfield Barbershop. The Gain Changer is used as a gain channel, the Fairfield pushes it, or gives me a nice edge of break-up boost to my clean setting. Both sound amazing through it.
...yes, the M12 most definitely rocks ;-)

I use a Rockett blue note into a King of Tone into a TS 808HW for my OD's with my M12 and my Jaz 20/40 and Maz jr. Sounds good with all 3 amps

Soooooo, how do you get the back off of an M12 head to replace tubes? I have removed the 4 screws and the back won't budge. Scared to pry too much for fear of ripping tolex.

Usually it's a little sticky for me and requires some firm jiggling of a screwdriver or something small enough to fit in the crack. At least that's how it has been on my other Z's...

^ Yeah, sometimes a little "coersion" from a flat-head screwdriver will help it pop off. I think the combination of new/tacky tolex plus the adhesive used sometimes glues the back right on. I sometimes go carefully along the edge between the chassis and the removable back panel. Just be careful because you can either scratch the chassis or nick the tolex. Haven't found a better solution yet.

You might try removing the rear chrome corners. This worked for me on a very tight Avatar cab I bought. Loosened it up enough that the pry needed from a screw driver was minimal.
