I've concocted a diabolical summer plan for my M12 combo (which is really a backup plan, as I've listed it for sale to finance the purchase of a Therapy head). If it doesn't sell in time for me to grab the Therapy, I am gonna have the Doc slap a head cab together for me. I'll get it done in matching red tolex, and will have Harvey make two matching valances - one for the head cab, and a second to put on the front of my M12 combo cab without the control cut. That should make for an interesting look - almost like a mini Z-Wreck cab.

Plan is going ahead, although with our weak dollar right now I've opted to have the cab built locally by a very talented cab builder (no offense, Mike). I'm considering Harvey valances for both, although I'm also very tempted to order some brown cowboy tolex and do the valances for both with it - I think that with the red cabs, white piping, and Harvey's wood Z logos would look badass.
I tried a few different amps recently, and while I found many interesting traits in each, the M12 is really the top of the pile for overall tone and compact portability...the only snag was the rattle in the combo. For some unfathomable reason, it never occurred to me to pull the chassis and try it. I did that a couple days ago and can't stop playing it. There's nary a peep from the tubes - even at the highest volume settings. I can finally run this thing the way I like to play - set my tone, crank it, and use the knobs on the guitar to control dirt. I originally thought I could happily solder the switch the low position. Now that I can run it without the rattle, the High setting is my new best friend. I've been running just it with the volume rolled back on the Tele, and a comp set low (SP), with my hand-wired #23 Mad Prof Deep Blue set for slap. ****-eatin' grins all around ;-)
