I picked up a 2014 Gibson 335 Satin finish this weekend -- got it for a great price.. I've been wanting one for a while. Just finished setting it up. The neck needed adjustment -- I had them do that to make sure the truss rod was okay. Now it plays great. Sounds good through my Maz. I'm looking forward to playing at a gig.

That's a beautiful guitar. I have a 2011 satin 335, unbound, and I love mine. I got it used, and I had to take it apart to restore the stock '57 Classic pickups because the previous owner had put Dirty Fingers pickups in it. While it was all apart I buffed the finish to a gloss with some Meguire's, and it shined up very nicely. I hope you enjoy your new guitar, it's a beauty. I absolutely love mine.

Thanks guys ... I had a satin Les paul I buffed out a few years back -- I can never leave well enough alone -- it came out well. So, I used some Stew Mac polishing compound and buffed out the top of the 335 today -- looks good ... I'll post some pics when finished.

Here's my 335 after polishing the top. I used Stew mac "Color Tone #4 Swirl Remover" polish and Music Nomad guitar wax with a polishing cloth. I waxed but didn't polish the back. About 20 minutes total.
