This was done using a Zoom H2 by the sound board. There are 2 guitars but the Maz is way louder in the mix. Not the best playing or recording but it gives a good representation of what the amp can do. There's a RC/BB being used as well. southboundinfo.com/Documents/srv1.mp3

That was all Maz with the BB probably or just the RC. I had a modified Strat I just got rid of for a 62 RI Vintage Modifed and what a difference it made. I am VERY happy with it. The best Strat tone I have achieved by far. Way better than the recording suggests.

Cool! I just bought one of those H2's a few weeks ago. I plan on using it a LOT to record gigs. Never know when a magic moment might happen that you go "whoa...I wish I'd recorded that! Oh wait...I did!"

Great tones, your band sounds really good. Where did you position the H2 - and approx how far from the mains? Thanks for posting!

Great tones, your band sounds really good. Where did you position the H2 - and approx how far from the mains? Thanks for posting! Thanks a lot. The H2 is a really great deal. Ive only used it a couple of times and once live. I tried to get our soundman to adjust it for me once we started playing but that will never happen so I winged it and got the meter close. I tried the compressor at practice and it sounded really...well compressed. Just too much. I have not tried the limiter but to answer your question: It was sitting on top of the effects rack at the board which put it roughly above the crowd and between the mains (mono mix) about 50 ft or so from the band. I used Audacity to tweek the EQ and gain a little. Not bad for $200. I'm sure it could get better with practice. If anybody knows a better (free) program for tweeking I'm all ears. Pete

That H2 did a pretty amazing job of capturing the sound. You were definitely wringing some great tones out of that Maz. Smokin' chops too!

"Not the best playing"? You're being modest. The band has a great groove going & the geetar playing rocks! I've heard a number of SRV covers and they usually sound like a weak attempt at the tune. You've got the SRV vibe, but the playing sounds like you're own and this doesn't sound weak.

You certainly have the SRV vibe coming through, that's a nice band you got going there. The tone is excellent. Thanks for sharing the clip.

Maz Jr. 18 in Red on You Tube Hey guys please check out my son (lilhendrix132) playing his Red Dr. Z Maz Jr. Combo Amp on You Tube. He is only 12, but I think does a pretty good job with RATM Bulls on Parade and Bombtrack - thanks in advance for your attention and any encouragement you can spare! JET
