Although of late I've been obsessed with the live version of "Get It On" from Don Kirshner, I've rediscovered Leslie West. What a passionate player. "Nantucket Sleigh Ride" (Live) is playing at this moment

I saw Mountain way back when , great band and Leslie was a monster player. Man that guitar roared and wailed in his hands.

Yeah , it was a great concert - Leslie had 3 double-cut Juniors on stage , 2 red and one white. When he played slide he used a '60's Flying V. The 2 things I vividly remember was Felix Pappalardi strutting around the stage playing that '50;s Gibson EB bass shaped like a violin , and this is the tune they opened with:

As a side note, this thread reminded me of the participation Felix had with Cream as well - Disraeli Gears and Wheels of Fire. But now I'm going to have to look those up again to see what he actually played. Keyboard? Hmmm.

Didn't Felix produce some of that Cream stuff? Also, I think Gail Collins co-wrote some of the lyrics for a couple of Cream songs.
