Saw this yesterday. It's a fact-based, but fictionalized account centered on Alan Turing's work on breaking German codes during WW II. Turing is played by Benedict Cumberbatch, who did the voice of Smaug in the recent Hobbit films, plays Sherlock on the BBC series and was in the recent Star Trek movie. My wife and I really enjoyed the film. The day before we watched Codebreaker on Netflix, which is also about Alan Turing, but more a documentary with some dramatizations.
Who was Alan Turing? A math genius, one of the founders of digital computing and computer science. Both the fiction and non-fiction films are heartbreaking. I won't go into why. See for yourself.

Tho it's not a popular stance (he was probably gay), we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Alan Turing! Because of him et al, we are free!
