Well I'm sure you guys are getting your fill of me lately, but hey, at least I'm getting some wank time. I'd be a lot better off actually studying but I have to justify this studio gear... Tonight I wanted to fiddle with my Mexi-Strat. I've got a new set of GFS pups in there and they are sounding pretty good to me. The guitar's not the greatest setup - I need to fiddle with it a bit to get it to "my" feel, but I'm digging the sound of these Chinese pups. I also wanted to fiddle with the chorus in the G-System to see what it sounds like. I'm pretty pleased with the tones it produces, although the recording may have a bit too much. You be the judge. I started out just playing, and I was getting some amazing chime, so I decided to turn on the recorder and find a backing track to play against. Well this one wasn't what I'd planned at all, but every time I hear this track I'm just in love with this groove. The stupid thing is one chord the whole way through, but it's just a great groove. I'm no fusion player (as you can tell by all the clams and the pentatonics and the "little italy" wherever I can fit it) but we're having fun here! Mexi-Strat (GFS Pups) > G-System > RC Booster > Stingray > Airbrake > Celstion Alnico Blues G-System had Compressor and Chorus on, RC Booster in the loop. RC Booster had all knobs at noon except volume at 10 o'clock Backing track from TGP called Jammage.mp3 StratGFSChorus.mp3

I can see why you like the backing track - it really does have some groove. I like the tones you got. And, especially liked your sense of space and phrasing. it sounded like you were havin' a great time - thanks for sharing ;D

Pretty happening guitar Steve and a nice sound track. I don't think the chorus was overdone. Assuming GFS p'ups 'generic fender strat' pickups?
Keep them clips coming...

I had a friend recommend them and I've been very pleased. They are designed here in the USA and made in China. Full set: $67. For three pickups. Wow! And I think they sound pretty good. I thought it was an excellent way to upgrade this Mexican Strat I have here.
