Finally got around to mic'ing the Ghia and seeing how it records. All i can say is wow wow wow. It really is the perfect studio amp, plug in and play and you got killer tone on tape. Using a cheapo mxl 990 condensor running into a EMU sound card I thought i'd see what all the fuss was about. I must say this is the easiest and best guitar tone i've ever recorded (granted I havent done much but this really suprised me). I plugged straight in with a CS 63 Tele. Tone at 12 and volume at 8 o'clock, hit record the first time and got this tone. Not paying attention to the sloppy playing, im very happy with the recorded sound of this amp! jasontonline.com/sounds/ghia-tele.mp3Other than a little bit of dynamics, and a touch of reverb this is pure guitar to amp to tape. Anyone who is on the fence about the ghia as a studio amp, or just an amp period should jump on one. Thanks for a great product Doc!

Wow. VERY nice.
Now what I'd like to hear (if you're taking requests!) is the Ghia broken up a bit... curious as to what volume "o'clock" on the dial you get a good "hair on the note" breakup... altho even on that clip at 8:00, I can hear a wee bit 'o hair on them notes. More! Give us more!

Wow! Such a warm tone for so little volume! The neck pick up on that tele sounds beautiful. Very nice playing too. I could listen to that all day. I'm with ruger9, lets hear some hairy or down right nasty ghia next! Thanks for sharing, although you're not helping my Ghia gas! I nearly shelled out 600 bucks for GEC KT66 valves today but I didn't do it in the end. That's half a GHIA!

I love to hear the note to note balance that the Ghia has, and you nailed that.
Great playing by the way.

DR.Z After recording Blue Jean Blues, (last week)... I am waay impressed by the "touchiness" (for lack of a better word) of the Ghia....This recording probably has the BEST note articulation of anything I have put on disc/tape to date....... I am a VERY satisfied customer, and will SURELY be back for more !!!... ;D

A+ on your noodling and tone. I'm a new Ghia owner so I'm checking out the other CG posts. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thats just great tone there, the ghia and tele just come through, couldn't ask for anything more tone-wise. You have a lovely feel for the instrument. Thanks for posting this. This clip sold a ghia. Well I have one, but not the right speakers yet.
