Can I use my brake lite with my EZG50 or is that amp to much for it? I think I read smewhere that its not strong enough or something or it may burn up using it with a 50 watt amp?

As I recall, the brakelite should only be used with amps up to 45 watts - EZG50 would probably be pushing the envelope.

I was told not to by the guys at Humbucker. Turns out, though, that the EZG produces such great tone at lower volumes I really didn't need it.

bloozeman it may be worth dropping a note to the Z HQ as in theory, a 50w amp is not pushing 50w 100% of the time in use and since resistance attenuators convert power into heat, you may just get some extra heat and not actually damage anything. If my calculations are correct then it's possible that you could safely run the BL w/ the EZG as long as you are careful about it getting ventilated enough. I could imagine DRZ rating it conservatively as some CYA in case some random user leaves his BL under a bunch of gasoline-soaked blankets or something LOL

I am using one with a 50 watt Marshall JCM800 combo without issue. It doesn't appear to get any hotter than the one in my Maz18. I asked first in the troubleshooting section. I am running the master at around 3/4 on 2 clicks.

I am running the master at around 3/4 on 2 clicks. I too recall seeing Dr Z saying it was OK a long as one keeps the volume somewhat throttled. Based on this, unless you're really cranking the EZG, you should be OK.

When I used one with my EZG it got quite hot. I found I didn't need it anyways.
