Do you think it would be a good watch for some who's not a fan of the band ? Or is it a love letter kinda doc ?
I've watched and enjoyed quite a few music docs about bands I otherwise wouldn't listen to.

fyi... it's two parts. the first part is about 2 hours and takes you up to their first break up. the second part is about an hour and i've only watched about 20 minutes of it.

I'm not an Eagles fan but found the documentary worth watching. As Bad Poodle says the musicianship is worth it. Plus you get to see a very hot Linda Ronstadt.

I'm up to the Hotel California section in Part 1. Liking it so far.
Memorable bit: Joe Walsh says something like "For some reason, Keith Moon decided he really liked me. I was terrified."

finally watched the last hour and i got to say... Glenn Fry - bit of a douchebag. Don Felder - more gracious than i'd have been.

Watched the first 2/3 last night. Don Henley came off much more 'human' than his reputation. (Reputation: a terrible person.) I also thought the fighting between Henley and Frey was legendary....but they downplayed that a LOT!
Wow...Linda Ronstadt was HOT!
Randy Meisner has NOT aged well.

I finished watching last night. Felder was clearly upset by the circumstances of his departure. Frey comes across as an egotist. OK, maybe he and Henley did deserve a larger share of the stake in Eagles, Inc. But the film never discusses if Felder was bought out of his share or what the nature of the contract / deal was. Probably gag orders from the lawyers.

Probably gag orders from the lawyers. Whatever the details of the contractual arrangements, I personally thought that Don Felder was treated very unfairly. Frey comes across as a hard headed a$$hole and Henley was happy to let Frey and Irving Azoff deal with things however they wished. Felder was clearly very upset about the situation. Unfortunately, The Eagles ceased being a band and became a money making corporation for Frey and Henley (and Azoff) years ago. They already make all the royalties from the song writing and publishing, so I couldn't understand why they were so against sharing the proceeds of a world tour. How much more money do two multi, multi millionaires need? It all seems such a shame.
