Can anyone figure out what's happening here? It's just been fully retubed.. can't really describe it, so I took a video.

Could be a bad tube?

Was it doing that before the tube swap? Keep in mind new tubes are not necessarily "good" tubes until you prove them in action. If this started with the swap, replace each preamp tube, one at a time, using the old tubes.
If this was happening before the swap, you may have other issues.

Be sure and try another guitar, cab and cable to eliminate those as possibilities. Though it does sound like a tube problem to me. Follow Steve's advice.

Alright, I'll try swapping/replacing tubes. I tried different cables, cabs and speakers cables already. I should also mention, that it only seems to happen when the volume is at 9o'clock or louder. So could it be a tube?

Kinda sounds like the EF 86 tube may be bad. Try putting the one you took out back in.

I had a similar problem with my Tiny Terror which turned out to be a bad preamp tube. I too tried switching tubes to solve the problem, but apparently my spare was even worse than than the original 12AX7. I'm sure it'll be a quick fix regardless.

Yeah I just took it to a tech last night. Hopefully he can figure out what's wrong with it. If he has questions be sure to have him call the factory. They are a ton of help and can put a guy on the right path fairly quickly. Look out if you get a guy who claims the design needs to be changed - I see that here occasionally and usually those guys are the ones to avoid.

Bad solder joint apparently. Fixed!!! What a great sounding amp!!!!!!! Wow. Glad it's a simple fix! If you think the stangray is a great sounding you should listen to a Stingray or a Mantaray
