Wow, I never really heard those bass lines on "Don't Let Me Down" that pronounced before. Silver face amps sounded darn nice. Great post Lee.

Yes! I saw them on Ed Sullivan when the whole thing started - was already toying with my dad's guitar, but THAT sealed the deal. John's Rickenbacher became instant GAS - and I never managed to score one.

The Big Bang of rock. Somehow , when I listen to Beatles records , I feel they are still new. And they make me feel young again. They were the start of getting into playing for me. (And prolly 10 million other guys )

A really good friend of mine who is an ordained minister in the Church of England...... and a great singer and ex professional rocker..... refers to life as BB and AB rather than BC and AD (Before Beatles and After Beatles). In his professional view it was the Beatles who changed EVERYTHING in popular music - he respects others such as Elvis and Little Richard / Jerry Lee Lewis etc., but it was the Beatles who were the Seismic Shifters (good name for a band!!) is his opinion, and who am I to argue, eh?
