Sometimes I like too play cleaner stuff on my 28 with some verb n tremolo. Using a holy grail n boss tr2. the HG works great for me, but the TR2 has some dead range for subtle effects, i.e. turn down the depth below 1/3 and no effect.
What are people using for some softer/subtler jazzy tremolo sounds?

Flint. Done. Kinda spendy but worth it IMO.
I also have a Keeley-modded TR-2 that transforms it. It can get very subtle.

My board at home, I use a Dr Scientist Tremolessence. Lots to tweak and there an expression input.
On the smaller board, I use a MojoHand SugarBaby, now called the Bayou. Good simple and effective trem.

I really like my Chelsea Nights term by oldschoolfx. Website shows a large box box trem but if you write to Sam ask he can build it in a smaller box and include a rate blinking light. Love mine Todd

DC here! As I've said many times - bear with me - I don't use pedals very much - but - On my pedalboard I have the Sweetsound Mojo Vibe that has both a chorus and vibrato setting - that is pretty close. Works out for those old school soul ballads - lols. Cheers: Dixiechicken!

on the JAZ you get that tasty swell and thump but when I used to roll with my '28 all the time it was a Fulltone SupaTrem that got the call. It's a useful pedal that I only got rid of b/c of amps w tremolo coming into the fold and the space it took up on my nano.

Yeah, if you send your TR-2 to Keeley it'll come back as one of the best tremolo pedals out there: robertkeeley.com/product/tr-2-tremelo-modThe "mod your own pedal" option is $80, which is almost as expensive as buying a whole new pedal, but again it works very well.

I've got the Fultone while the other guitarist has the flint. Mine works fine, but the Flint is in another league in sounds it can create.

The thing about the Fulltone is that is can double as a nice little boost...
With the pedal engaged on the soft setting and the mix all the way down it adds a bit of clarity. When you need the trem effect just hit the hard switch and there ya go.

Supa-Trem 2! Can't say enough about this one... really dug the ST2, even moreso than the original. My favorite results: set your amp to be on the edge of breakup w/ max guitar volume and the ST2 to have just a touch of boost. This will add a tiny bit of compression to each pulse just like real tube tremolo. This trick works with any tremolo with some boosting ability.

I really love my Stigtronics Tremolo...it's dead simple (rate and depth), perfect tone (preserves my tone without any coloration) small footprint and it is inexpensive 149.00. I am someone who loves tremolo and so I tried many of the leading expensive ones with all the bells and whistles only to find out that for me simple is what I really like/need. stigtronics.com/id3.html

I realy like that Mojo Hand Bayou trem that was posted earlier.
Also the Cmat Mods "Tremo-Glo" doubles as a clean boost. It has a switch to select between the two modes. That is actually a pretty neat feature for a trem pedal.
There is a demo on Pro Guitar Shop's website of both of these pedals.

Have used all of those mentioned above. I now use the Diamond Tremelo. Great Tremelo and boost pedal. My favorite so far.

I use my Eventide Space for tremolo. The spring reverb algorithm has great tremolo on it. Nails that 60s Fender tone. Best part about it is that it syncs with my Eventide Timefactor and can take the MIDI clock from a click track. I don't even have to tap in my tempo live anymore.

I'll throw in on the Diamond Tremolo, as well. Tap tempo, all analog, wonderful old school feel, and more modern sounds if you so desire. I have the Keeley modded TR-2, and it's great. I wanted a pedal with tap tempo and have been very happy with the Diamond.

I love finding tremolo functions in other types of FX. Ring Mods can make great trems if their LFO can get slow enough. My old Fairfield Randy's Revenge was not only a killer ring mod in general but could be set for a very phase-y, organic tremolo incl. boost. My Dr. Scientist Bit Quest can pull off a similar trick in its Ring Mod mode. There is no "wrong" when it sounds cool!

I've been eyeing the SolidGoldFX Stutter-lite. Looks quite promising. Very simple setup, and is supposed to be very capable in the subtle trem area.
