We've talked about el-84s...What about El-34's ? How many hours playing time are they usually good for before a swap?

We've talked about el-84s...What about El-34's ? How many hours playing time are they usually good for before a swap? Depends on the amp and how loud you play as most EL34 amps are not cathode biased (there are a few) but are grid biased so the harder you drive the output set the faster they will wear. There are other factors as well ... plate voltage, bias, etc. Generally an EL34 has half the life of a 6L6 as a general piece of info and this can vary from less than 1000 hours to over 3500 hours.
