I have used 1x12 cabs with various speakers (Blue or Greenback) and like them both with the M12. However reading several threads that discuss how great the M12 sounds with the Z Best has me wondering...I also am wondering about the 4x10 as I have read that will go nicely with my Z28. Any comments about your experience with the M12 and multiple speakers would be appreciated.

I play my M12 thru a 2x12 cab loaded with 1 celestion Blue! I'll fill my cab with another speaker one day but I've been so happy with 1x12 celestion blue! Amazing how a 12w amp and 15w speaker hold up with a bass player and drummer! The Z-Best will sound amazing! I've heard a Ghia thru one and they're truly excellent cabs. The projection from that cab is insane. Assuming you're playing out at gigs, the Z-Best will handle any scenario. I'm just a bedroom picker these days so I'm content w/my '1x12' setup. Cheers!

I should have added in the OP that I am a basement player. I know the Z Best or 4x10 are likely not going to be used to their full potential, but I just got some bonus money at work...

I'm sure they would both sound great, but my vote is for the 4-10. Open back makes it much better & more 3D in smaller places. ( Z Best is a long throw type cab ). Plus the 4-10 is easier to carry. Tall and slim vs fat & bulky. Huge wall of sound coming from a relatively small box~

Haven't tried it through a 4x10. Sounds wonderful through the Z Best.

That said, I'm all for excess or else my gear collection wouldn't be nearly as big as it is .

I've been curious about the 4x10 as I have 2x10, 1x12, and Z-best. I love switching them up. It makes for the feeling of a new amp. The z-best with a Ghia in a small practice area still sounds different than my 1x12. The z-best is big and bulky to move, but the ported design sounds rich. But I am don't often really open it up full throttle indoors. The 2x10 is my mainstay. I love the docs 10's. So I've wrestled with picking up a 4x 10, but decided to seek another 2x10 cabinet to pair up with my current one. You can't go wrong with either cabinet. I think the z- best appear more often in the used arena.

I ran mine with a Z 4x10 for a while and it was great, big and solid low end. The Docs 10s provided plenty of top end chime. I converted to a 2x10 combo mainly for convenience. I don't think I lost that much of the "bigness," ha! Word pioneering. Anyhow, no experience with a ZBest so use this how you will. Cheers, DC
