Tell me about it. Like it? Not like it? I'm thinking of trying one in my Ghia 1x12. Again, it's the heritage 20 watt version.

I love mine! Don't have a non-Heritage version to compare to but I like the speaker a lot. It's quieter than a 100db speaker and sounds great when cranked. There is that "woody" feel to it and the bass is just enough for me. I would definitely buy another one.

What's not to like?...except the cost.
I have two in my Z-best. The big thing for me is that they're 96db. The reissue greenbacks are 98. Also, if you want to save some money, the EVH model from Celestion is the same speaker, just with the black magnet cover and the VanHalen sticker on the back. If you have a closed back cab, no one will ever see it.

Sounds like a good speaker. My ghia 1x12 has a blue in it so that's why I'm looking at the heritage. I seem to prefer lower db speakers like you John, that's why I noticed the heritage greenie. I will say that this blue is one of the best I've heard because was used extensively on a pro tour for at least 6 or 7 years. I actually like the tone I'm getting at home but the blue is loud and I will need a little less volume but more oomph once the whole band becomes a factor.
And I don't really care about looks as long as it sounds good to me.

I used the blue at rehearsal last night and I was actually very pleased with the sound with the full band. Granted, I didn't have to push the amp or the blue at all so the bass held together very well. I do wish the blue was a few db less so that I could push the amp more. I'm still going to try one of the heritage type speakers for the lower db.

I put one in my Maz a couple years ago and haven't looked back. I love it. The 96dB rating is why I originally tried it, and it makes a huge difference in volume. It's warm and smooth but I can still get plenty of chime by tweaking the tone controls.
The only thing I don't like is that you have to solder the speaker leads so it's a bit more hassle to swap.

I didn't realize they were solder connections... no big deal, I solder alot but like you said just more hasle. Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Proboards

What I did, in order to be able to change it out and experiment in the future without having to solder every time, was make a new lead, solder it to the speaker, and just always leave it connected. I just bought a 1/4" plug and soldered cable to it and then to the speaker. So if I ever want to take the speaker out, I just leave it connected and retrieve the original lead to hook up the other speaker.
That said, I like the Heritage GB so much that I've yet to capitalize on my self-proclaimed "genius" idea...the speaker has never come out!

I have some insulated quick connects that I can use to make a pigtail on the speaker side. That way it will mate up to the rest of my speaker harnesses.
