Often imitated - never duplicated. I Wouldn't last a minute in his band. Great post, thanks Eric

Love J.B. Thanks for posting. Major influence on so many musicians. Very hard to sit still with funk of that caliber going on.

Get Back!!!!! What a mover.....Totally LOVE this performance! Awesome stage presence (except for the sole white trumpet guy....looked like Steve Martin in "the Jerk")

His drummers would allegedly marvel at John Bonham trying to figure out how he sounded so full. Great post Roscoe! RIP Godfather.

Wow,what a show stopper. One story of JB and his impeccable ear was he got into a argument with his guitar player for being a hair under the note. JB said get right man or your gone. Just think how far the talent for true superstars have fallen, you can have no talent and get your own reality show i.e. Kardashian women.

Just pre-ordered and picked up my tickets for Friday. Figured it would get sold out quick.
I forgot Paul Shaffer used to have hair.

My bud Jeffrey T. Watkins was a band leader for James Brown for 13 or so years... then moved onto Joss Stone's band leader... then into the New Orleans Suspects... he is finishing up a tour with Joss Stone this weekend I believe and headed back to New Orleans. He's got some stories but I think the stories from the older guys would be more interesting!
He had two bass players in his bands.
