I plugged into a generator for an outdoor gig this evening and got zero sound. Power light on but that's it. I got to thinking that there was no ground reference - did that damage the amp?
Regardless - my M12 is going to Doc for an repair...

Before you send it to Doc you might want to try the following troubleshooting procedure - not difficult even for a non-techie like me! drzamps.com/trouble_shooting.html

Yeah, rule out the tubes/fuses before you pay to ship it in for repair...tube amp troubles are probably 90%+ tube related...even if just re-tubed the whole amp!

The power tubes light up (EL84) but nothing on the rectifier tube. The fuse is not blown. I will run through the trouble shooting procedure tomorrow.

Most likely a blown rectifier tube.

Had a similar problem with my Maz years ago. It was a rectifier.

My bet was on rectifier also.

New tubes on the way. Thought I would go ahead and re-tube while I am at it. Played every week for a year and a half now! I will let you know soon. Thanks!

I keep preaching this. Go for a NOS rectifier. It will probably be years before you have to change it again; maybe never.

It was the rectifier tube. My buddy is giving me a couple NOS 5Y3's to have on hand also!
