Just wondering what most people are doing input-wise. I'm a Lo input man, myself...

Generally lo, especially with humbuckers. The lo input , to me , seems a little smoother. When I want more volume and some bite or jangle , I'll go with the hi input.

One day I threw it in the "Low" and fell even more in love. The increase in the tonal quality was amazing.

I voted always low. In the 10 or so years I had my Maz Jr, I think I only used the Hi input a couple of times just to see how much difference there was between the two.

After toying with both initially, have settled on low.

I ride the fence a little, but mostly Hi.. probably out of habit (Lo input traditionally reserved for active pickups and/or mic-level stuff). Though I should try the Lo more often... many around here prefer it, clearly.

Started on low with vintage Fender amps and have stayed there (for the most part)!

Typically low until it goes outdoors, then I go high. High doesn't seem to react the same, so it takes me a few songs to adapt.

Funny i saw this thread, as I just changed recently. I was a low input user myself, as I use the Maz as a pedal platform (and a great one it is!!). But in recent band practice and gigs, I found that my pedals sounded better (to me) If I went into the Hi input and even cranked the gain a little more then usual. Sort of like the amp sounded more like himself and less like just my pedals (if it makes sense). So to explain a little more, I'm mainly using a Tele, 2 OD, 1 Fuzz, tremolo and phaser. So I never really need perfectly clean. I found that using the Maz like this, I also ride the volume knob more to get cleaner shades if needed. In this setting, my EHX Soul Food also is a lot more usefull then when ran into a clean amp. So for me, for now it is HI baby !!!

I don't think I've ever, purposely, plugged into the low input on any amp.

LOW INPUT IS FOR GIRLS!
kidding ... I use both, got a nice foot switch for the toogle. That low input sounds better for the rhythm stuff on the neck pick up. Can you find a bad sound on this thing?!?!?

Started on low with vintage Fender amps and have stayed there (for the most part)! That was how i dialed in my ear with some very old fender amps, but for some reason Ive been using my Hi input since Ive had the maz.. I will toy around with the low throughout the week and see how I feel.

I originally said Lo with the Hi sometimes, however, all day I've been rockin the Hi and it's awesome!! So I chose "amp" since it contains both Hi and Lo, the amp over all sounds too freaking good to pick!

Old thread... while playing today I realized I was using the low input on my DR Z MAZ 18 and my DR Z Plus amp. I forgot I was using these inputs. I switched to the high inputs and then switch back to the low. I was playing a Strat. The low input just sounds better to me. I little warmer and fuller and the high input seemed a little brighter and in your face. I found this thread using a google search because I wondered if it was normal.
I feel better after reading this.

I haven't tried it on a Z-Plus but it probably works.

Lo input here.
As a home hack the lower the noise floor is the happier I am. Lo input helps a lot and you can always crank up the GV.

What if you plug a Variable Boost Foot Switch into the Hi input. Can you use the pot on the VBFS to blend in the amount of Hi input you want in to the Lo channel ?

I tried it, and it works but it cuts the volume a bit, takes a little of the presence off, depending on your cable capacitance. A regular on/off switch works better for me.
