Paul (6strang) had one. He may have moved it on though. Check with him for his impressions. He seemed to like it as I recall.

Got my self one a few weeks ago. It sounds and feels great. No perceivable latency and does everything I need. It was a bit like playing amp roulette till I settled down on my fav sounds, one of which happen to be a Z Wreck on fire. I've never heard most of these amps in a room, but boy do they sound like they're coming off a record without my head exploding. Paired with my AU Apollo Duet and HD800 or my monitors this thing really comes alive. The control layout was a blizzard at first, but once you take a closer look it's incredibly intuitively laid out. Prefect for home practice, wasn't cheap but it was totally worth it. I've been around a lot of modelling/digital gear, this one is different in a good way, it works just fine!

I guess I've been playing my Z amps long enough to where if I see more than 3 knobs, I start quivering.

But it took me 5 mins at the store to know this is what I'd been looking for without know what it was. One of those crazy moments of disbelief! Check this vid below, it's a massive endorsement.

As awesome as this thing can sound I still can't figure out why there's no GUI control? to have to scroll through that tiny screen in this day and age seems totally nuts to me.

I can see how that can be seen as issue, there's a D USB jack at the back, I wouldn't put it past them to address the issue as and when they see fit. On the other hand I love the idea of buttons and knobs instead of doing everything with a mouse and requiring a computer to do simple stuff.
The only glaring design flaw was the SPDIF treatment, coaxial and you got to slave your audio interface to it's clock at 44.1k. Even this may be addressed with an update, but I'm not holding my breath, my AU Apollo Twin adds 1.1ms latency and sounds great at 192 on the analog input. Really not an issue. Another minor thing I'd change is to put the usb jack at the back above the XLR outputs for ergonomic reasons, a bit awkward with my slippery small form factor usb drive, I should tie a string to it.

Twangsta, don't you just love the UA stuff? I've been mixing more budget records at home and there are only a couple non UA plugs I still use.

Twangsta, don't you just love the UA stuff? I've been mixing more budget records at home and there are only a couple non UA plugs I still use. Top shelf for sure, but honestly I haven't dug into them yet, the kemper and UA kit arrived together, I've spent more time on the kemper, but I'm playing thought it all the time, zero issues so far, I love the tape machines, they're magical, Lexicon 224 and the EMT 140, good reverb! Quite a beast, I'm still wrapping my head around a work flow, the kemper is a simpleton in contrast. I've been saving the other trials for later when I've settled down a bit more. I can see where a lot of my money is going to end up I also picked up a Sennheiser HD800 at the same time and been tripping on all the old records again in a new light, hearing things I never heard before. Jazz, classical and Robben Ford mostly. And I'm learning more RF tunes. It's been a lot to digest in a short while. Which unit are you using? The twin I thought was a prefect replacement for my ageing RME Babyface, I'm really not doing anything serious with all this, just playing at home and learning new tunes at the moment.

I'm using the Apollo Quad w a recent iMac at home. I do a lot editing and long distance overdubs at home. I also do full mix projects here that can't afford the full on analog thing that we do at the studio.
I did get a special deal from UA that let me try all the plugs for a year then I went on a buying spree.
Got
Neve complete bundle LA-2A collection 1176 Classic collection LA-3A API EQ bundle Roland Classic effects (which includes the space echo and that original roland chorus unit) The Softube Amp room (which sounds really good) The Pultec Colletion Both Fairchild limiters My favorite reverb ever of all time the EMT 250 and the UA 610 Tube preamp & EQ.

Wow that's quit a list, all their classic gear! I will ask you for advice when I get to that point if you don't mind. Did you try the Roland dimension thing? I quite like it, buttons a bit chorusy but very pleasing, I guess there some eq needed to go with it. Have you ever tried scuffman's s-gear, but I think the charm of UAD-2 is it's hardware DSP. s-gear in non UAD. I did play with the softube amp room a bit, I should give it another go! edit: trying the EMT 250 right now.

I've wanted an EMT 250 since the mid '80's. They were a fortune back then. They got the original designer to help w the plugin. It's my favorite digital reverb by a mile. Can't touch a used one for less than $25K!
The Dimension D thing came with the Space Echo and the Roland Chorus. It's a cool effect to put on a solo for some width and wiggle.
Basically with these plugs I can work in the box almost exactly the way I work with the gear at the studio. I can reach for the stuff that I've been using for years. Really great.
