Well as much as I wanted to like the Z-Wreck combo. I ended up having to return mine. My amp was never inspected before it left the merchant. It had some issues with it and I ended up returning it.
It just didnt work out for me. Dr. Z continues to make great amps and he stands behind his products with excellent customer service. Sorry Doc its not your fault.

Congrats. I've had my combo for a month now and played it every day since. It's a great amp. It's cool how every one likes it so much, strat guys, tele guys, or LP guys (like me). I still haven't even tried an od pedal with mine lol. It's fantastic.

I still haven't even tried an od pedal with mine lol. It's fantastic. I bet you can get some really nice clean and overdriven tones with your Les Paul. I can def see no need for a overdrive pedal with a les Paul. I plan on mostly just plugging straight in to mine as well. Even with the single coils. My purple axe has Bill Lawrance single coil noisless pickups. That axe in particular really sounded fat through the Z-Wreck. I like to feel my guitar and the amp and too many pedals get in the way of that..

It has a Big huge 3D like feel and tone you can feel the amp breath If that makes sense? It hits you in the chest.
That was my exact experience when I demo'd it. Great description. Bummer on the shipping...but, hey--it worked!!
I'll be living vicariously through all you Wreck owners...such a sweet amp! Congrats!

Isn't the volume output on these combos just about perfect? It's got a nice taper on the volume pot, nice and smooth transition from clean to mean. Sure it's loud, but I wouldn't call it obnoxious or anything. Perfect amount of headroom for me. It does have a beautiful clean with a LP. But it's nice not to have to dime the amp volume to get a great natural overdrive.
Only thing better than a ZWreck Combo might be two of 'em! Ha ha.

Keith Well, I wasn't going to comment, but since this thread was brought back up, I feel I should at least address it. For the record, all tube amps that we sell are opened and playtested before they leave the shop, including this one. This is the same way we've done it for many years now. I'm afraid that the assumption that we did not inspect or playtest the amp is incorrect. I'm certainly not trying to stir up anything here, but I did want to clear that up. We've been Z's biggest dealer for many years now, and I know many of you personally. Heck, some of you guys I'd even let stay at my house if you were in town. Revrand has dealt with us for several years as well, but this was one transaction that for one reason or another just apparently wasn't meant to be. I suppose that's the best way to put it.

I certainly wouldn't want to get in the middle of a disagreement especially since I've had no dealings with Humbucker and I've enjoyed revrand's posts. All I want to say is that I think the above response seemed to me to be measured and respectful and from revrand seems to have been respectful as well even if a part of his earlier statement has been refuted (again, respectfully). I really hope that both parties are okay with the way things worked out as I love the environment here and would absolutely hate to see the airing of disputes here get out of hand.

I have no choice but to believe that this amp was not inspected because of the condition it came to me in as well as the fact it was never signed off before it left your shop as this warranty shows. Which also makes this warranty invalid on paper. I was a loyal customer that spent thousands of dollars over the years with Humbucker and I could say alot more about this whole ordeal but I am going to take the high road. I wish you and your company the best Jake.

Sorry for your problems with the amp Revrand... but you might want to pursue this conversation via private message or email to avoid an awkward situation for the mods.

Sorry for your problems with the amp Revrand... but you might want to pursue this conversation via private message or email to avoid an awkward situation for the mods. Thank you Joe, But I dont have any problems with the amp. I sent it back. I really had to fight to get ALL my money back but thank God for Pay Pal Protection. I apologize to the mods or anyone else who may be offended by my response. Sorry but it is the truth of the matter. I been a loyal customer for several years. I do realize that Dr. Z sells alot of his amps through Humbucker. I just cannot believe that he would send them an amp to them in that condition. Im not hear to bash anyone either. Simply clarify why I did not keep this amp. I wish the best to Humbucker music and Dr Z.
