I got a Brake Lite about a month ago and love the versatility it gives. I've noticed that my amp makes a random noise that sounds like a live lead touching something. It happens when I'm not playing and I can't replicate it, it just happens randomly. Has anyone else had this problem?
I have the mountable Brake Lite but have 2 amps so I haven't mounted it properly yet (should have got the SA!), it just sits in my amp on the bottom of the cab. Would that cause this problem?

I've never had that problem....probably best to take a look at the innards of the brakelite and see if you can seen and obvious loose conncections, give a slight tug, make sure things are firm...(unplugged ofcourse:))...actually mount the BL like it should be, and see if the problem persist, it may not be the Bl at all, and something totally unrelated

I don't believe that kind of sound can come from anything the Brake Lite does. Even if you crushed it in a vise while playing, it wouldn't make that kind of sound. I'm thinking you have the confluence of two unrelated events - the acquisition of the Brake Lite and the appearance of a problem that is unrelated.

I took my first amp into the shop and there is nothing wrong with it. I then hooked up the brake lite to my other amp and the same noise happened. I tried the first amp without the brake lite and didn't hear the noise again.
It has happened when the bl is set to 4 with the amp quite high. I have only noticed it when I'm not playing. It sounds as if the brake lite stops attenuating for a second letting the amp noise come through only it's louder than the amp noise without the bl.

Very bizarre symptoms. I'm stumped. You should give Dr. Z a call at the factory.
