Hey all, Been reading the threads here and it seems that the Wreck has an AC30 voicing to it. I have played a Z-Wreck combo and was (like most everyone) floored by the feel and response of it. Now, I have never been into the Vox sound--most of the players I like are Fender or Marshall guys, and that's kind of the sound I think I like in my head...then I played the Wreck... Just curious if there's some die hard Marshall/Fender-style tone fans who have gone the way of the Wreck and never looked back. And if so, do you find you are able to coax some of those sounds out of it? I found it's clean and Natural OD very, very musical and impressive. So...your thoughts? Matt

This is definitely a "British" voiced amp.....It's thicker than an AC30 topboost and can get some pretty thick clean tones, but I don't think they'll ever be close to Fender tones. Not even sure about Marshall tones, it's almost a little too open for that and most Marshall's I've heard, are a little darker. The Wreck can get dark, but it still has that "Vox" feel and tone to it.

the zwreck is unique. its sound has no equals. I used to play marshalls/marshall clones and still do but the zwreck is a class of its own. no fender tones and no marshall tones but also a vox ac30 top boost sounds different. the zwreck has the ZZZZZZZZZZ when you play. you will never look back

It was such a bitchin' tone...it redefined what I "thought" I was looking for. I've tried a few Z's, and this happened to be the one that I connected w/ the most. Ya, no surprise, right? Thanks for the insight...

my thoughts? just play the amp. we can wax poetic all day but the fact is your ears will tell you what is is. This amp makes me never want to look for another and as a borderline addict in the gear department, I can't tell you another peace of gear I've owned that I was still in the honeymoon phase over a year later. This amp is everything you've heard it is and so much more.

The head/ cab combo LOOKS unreal. That being said, I might lean toward the combo just because of how loud the head/cab is. Can't miss either way

Sounds amazing, as well. But, for my needs, that 2x12 may be too much. I had thought of a head w/1x12 cab, but I'm thinking some of that magic is in the way the combo is built; same for the 2x12. I'm leaning combo...
