So now that I've got the Z-Wreck head, do I need the 2x12 cab? I have a 1x12 cab with a 30wt Weber Alnico Blue Dog and a 2x12 cab with two 30wt Alnico Blue Dogs and both sound amazing with this amp, just makes me wonder how much better it would sound? The guy I got the Wreck from has the matching cab he'd sell me, unloaded, for $360 shipped. In order to do that, I need to sell something..... That something would be my 2002 Fender CIJ Pink Paisley Telecaster. I'd then have left over money to add a gold in the cab to pair up with one of the Weber Blue Dogs. What do I do?? Sell the paisley to get the cab or keep the guitar cuz pink is cool?

I think the matching cab shipped for that cash is well worth it.

Get the matching cab. That cab is specifically tuned for the Wreck. Makes a big difference. Put 8 ohm Celestion blue and gold in there wired in series for 16 ohms.

yes, to my ears nothing compares with the wreck head than a wreck cab, loaded with a celestion gold and celestion blue.

Sounds like a good deal. I would be haunted by the thought of that cabinet if I didn't buy it. But that's just my personality, perhaps you aren't the same. Good luck with your decision.

I told you in a pm that the price offered is amazing. Do whatever you can to get that cab for a few reasons.
1-it matches and it's the only cab that does 2-you can't find them. I feel like there are probably only a handful around that someone would be willing to sell bc they sold their head. 3-the wreck sound you want has a lot to do with the cab. I played other heads through the wreck can and it made it sound more wreck like. More so than the head through another cab. 4-it's $360! I have a rand alone wreck cab and I wouldn't/couldn't sell it do that. Any unloaded z can is worth more IMO. 5-bad news is that you will need to load it with the correct speakers to make it right. Not saying it won't sound good but the blue gold is the way to go.

Even if you can't afford to load the speakers just yet, buy it. There are not many of the quantum silver cabs out there for sale by themselves. You will be kicking yourself later for not snagging it. Great price too.

the matching cab is a must!!! I've asked a few people who know their Z's and the magic is not as nearly in the cab as it is in the speakers. The cab is essentially a 2-12 open back Z cab with an oval back. Now the z wreck combo cab...that's a different story.

If I sell my Pink Paisley for close to what I'm asking, I'll be able to get a Gold to put in there and run it with my Weber Blue for a while. That should get me really close, I would think.

You do need to consider that the CIJ is harder to come by then a MIJ is. That's a nice little tele: Or you could sell it, Buy the cab and save up for a really pink paisley made to order by Bill Crook. That out does that Fender `10000-1. IMO

The z wreck is really the best sounding amp I have ever heard. That beig said, Not having the cab would be a deal breaker for me. It really makes that big of a difference.

Like others have said, I'd get the cab to have a matched set. Load it with what you have till you can get the Blue & Gold. That said....I like the tone I'm getting with the new combo better than even the original Quantum Silver set I had when it was first released. Congrats on your new amp. Special indeed.

The Eagle has landed!!! I got the 2x12 cab about 15 minutes ago. I had enough money to have him leave the Gold in it and I just put in my 8ohm Weber Alnico Blue Dog (30wt).
MAN, this cab is soooo much better looking in person - the pictures just don't do it justice!
Bad thing is that I won't get a chance to play it until later this evening or maybe not even until tomorrow at the gig.

Wow... It was worth it! Played with it for about an hour and it's HUGE sounding. I'm also just running the Gold and Weber Alnico Blue (not the Celestion) and I can't imagine it sounding any better?
