The last 4 hours flew by since it showed up. Gotta stop playing before my fingers start bleeding. What an amp....jeepers. Oddly enough I'm not a tele player, nor much into country. I like Les Paul's and classic rock/ blues. This "Lil' Blue Dude" seems to like it too! I'm blown away. At 9:00 on the V it has a really nice broken clean sound that I think I'd be happy if that was all it did. Real beautiful tone. But 12:00 on the V seems to be the perfect tone for me. Maybe a little closer to 1:00. It cleans up real nice with the GV too! So far It's been mostly on the Speed mode. I really like it. Seems to add some punch and sounds real beefy. I also seemed to notice setting the T & B lower (9-10:00) gives it more midrange and doesn't seem to take away any perceived volume. Cool. I actually don't think I'll put the brake lite in it. The volume is manageable for me. It's loud for sure, but nothing crazy. A stout 30. I can't get over how huge this sounds and how much low end it has for a el84 amp. Real punchy even with the volume at 3:00 with a Les Paul. Very happy with it. I overlooked this model for a while because I thought it was mainly a country/tele amp. But when the combo came out I started looking into it and listening to clips. I found a few clips with LP's and SG's and my interest was peaked. It's a do anything amp I think. And addictive to play. Here it is with the new family. Sorry for the bad cell phone pics. The lighting in my studio is dim.

You know, I've never been the biggest fan of medium/high-output combos, especially the top-rear loaded ones like Tweeds and Bluesbreakers. But this one--with the controls facing the correct way (nice touch, Doc!) and such a streamlined cab--it's really changing my mind. And that sound! Wow, what a special amp this is.

Thanks fellers! And thanks for thinkin bout me Mark! Only went in to work for a few hours today just to get the boys headed in the right direction. Then sat home waiting.... and waiting....and waiting..... looking out the window every time a loud truck went down the street ha ha. Felt like a little kid.
I have off tomorrow. The wife is working so it will be a good day!

Ohhhhh I envy you sir. Killer room!!! Thanks Pat. I built the room about 6 years ago. It's sound proof. Best money I've spent on gear related stuff. The acoustic treatment has been a work in progress. Always messing around with it and learning a bunch. Trial and error. More error. How you like your Z Wreck head?

Thanks guys. I seriously played it for 8 hours today. Just my R9 and a coily cable. This amp is impressive and I think the speaker is breaking in nicely. One of the things I find different than any other amp I've played is the sensitivity ( think that's the term ). It becomes most noticeable with the volume past 10:00 or so. I've seen this behavior before, but no where near this level. Picking lightly it's very clean, digging in with a pick really lays on the dirt. In a way it's like using the guitar volomue. This is taking some getting used too. But I like it.
I also have to say the black and blue color scheme looks really great in person. The grill cloth has a cool looking texture that doesn't seem to be noticeable in pictures. The thin walled cab design without corner protectors looks really classy. It's a sharp looker in person to be sure.

Hey Nick....Have you tried the P90 guitar you made with the 'Wreck yet? I know from experience that the Z Wreck LOVES P90's. My Collings 290 is at my parents house, but I'm bringing it home tomorrow. Can't wait!
Enjoy. Really love this little amp!

Hey Nick....Have you tried the P90 guitar you made with the 'Wreck yet? I know from experience that the Z Wreck LOVES P90's. Yes/YES! Ha ha. I just tried it this morning. Put about 3 hours in on it. It sounds great, really great. I can't get over how much I like this amp. The cut knob really works great, totally changes the sound and feel. I tried my first pedal with it today. A reverb pedal, as I usually like a little ambient verb. Don't need it with this amp, I couldn't even hear it. There is so much going on with the tone, and so much sustain..... guess you could say the amp has ambience built in lol.
