Well.......I just could not resist. The Doc has done it to me again. I tried to fight this one, but just could not. Boy am I glad. This is what I've been waiting for. A thinner walled, lighter, more resonant, combo from Dr Z......and a Z Wreck at that!! A personal thank you to Brad Paisley for requesting this combo and BIG thank you to DR Z for delivering. It has the Z Wreck tone and feel, but seems even smoother and warmer. I think due to the more resonant cab. And it's all right there in one small, relativity light little box. It seems smaller than I thought it would be for some reason, but man does it sound BIG!! Sound just surrounds the room. Another thing I like is with the British configuration, the vent on top not only vents heat, but also leaks a lot of sound! Really cool when you're standing right in front of it. I can hear it more than blowing by my pants legs and out the back. Been putting it through the paces all afternoon and it is more than delivering. More later, but yet another winner from the good Doc. Size comparison of the Maz Jr Studio cab and the Z Wreck combo.

Beauty! Ima get me one when they come out in red. That was my intention Jon..... To wait till I could get a Blonde w/Brown. But the Blue grew on me. On the weight of this little amp. It's not a feather weight. It IS light for a Z Wreck! It's basically the same size as a Maz Jr and same weight.....But.....It's a Z WRECK! And the lighter weight cab makes it resonate much more.... Like the Doc said. It has a looser feel than any other Z amp I've experienced. A very alive feel. Almost like the thing is breathing. So much fun. I've never played a 1-12 amp with so much girth. It's more like a head and cab feel instead of a combo. I'm gonna mount the Brake Lite in it, but I think I'll put it in the bottom instead of on the side. Don't want to dampen those vibrations! I can really see this amp sounding even sweeter with age. Another winner Doc~ Love to hear BW on this thing. Comin' to town soon Bud??

Congrats Mark. You try it with humbuckers yet? How is the headroom?

Congrats Mark. You try it with humbuckers yet? How is the headroom? Oh yeah! The Z Wreck has the most beautiful clean sound I've ever heard in my life....then it morphs into a wonderful crunch and on to sweet singing lead tone all with the twist of the volume on your guitar. As far as headroom, naturally single coils have more than humbuckers. That said, I wouldn't call the Z Wreck a high headroom amp. It's more of a anything amp. Plug-n-Play, like the Doc says. I installed the Brake Lite I ordered with the amp last night. It turned the amp into an even more versatile instrument. While I had the amp out of the cab, I was truly amazed at the design and construction of the cabinet. Lots of R & D when into it. Also light as a feather with the BIG Z Wreck Iron out of it. I really like this configuration better than the original head & cab set for my needs right now. The head and cab seem to have a tighter, more focused sound, where the combo resonates much more and has a looser, more open tone. Sound comes from everywhere! Love it!

Thanks Mark. I was afraid you would say stuff like that . I just joined your little club..... could......not......resist......temptation...... I sold 3 amps over the last few months to acquire a new Z. Was going to go with an EZG. But all my current amps are somewhat similar. Don't think I'll be disappointed judging from the clips I've heard. Jason Hobbs has a good one. Think he's a member here? Is the brake light needed for home use? I could take it out of my JAZ. Never use it in that amp anyways.

Good move, Nick. Moving the BL from the JAZ is a good idea. The Wreck is loud even with V set fairly low, and you want to be able to crank V to get some of the tones the amp can produce. Even at low volume settings, there's tremendous sustain that can be evoked with a gentle touch. Jason Hobbs has a good one. Think he's a member here? Jason was pretty active here for a while. Haven't seen anything new from him recently, though.
