The way I understand it next season is a different crime, different detectives, different location.

I'm pretty sure they find Laura Palmer's diary in tonight's episode.

I don't know, but I felt a bit cheated by that ending. Glad it wasn't a cliff hanger for next season. But it seemed rushed and left with more questions, what's up with the Yellow King? A little sappy at the end there with Marty and Rust limping off into the night.

Z I agree Doc, I like loose ends tied up and this didn't seem to tie up many. Seems like there were a lot of rabbit trails this season that wound up going nowhere. But I guess it was better than the endings for The Sopranos and Dexter-two of the worst endings I ever saw for such otherwise great series.

Yeah, I agree the ending seemed a bit forced. Sniper Buddy was a nice touch though.

Well... they lived, yes a bit rushed, but still to me one of the best Mini-Series that I've watched and it grabbed me immediately!

There certainly are some loose ends, BUT I am more satisfied than not. The unresolved loose ends may be an extension of one of the overtones of the final epidsode that (and I'm paraphrasing Hart's sentiment to Cohle during the hospital room scene) "You can't get em all. That's not how it works." Just like Cohle and Hart, as viewers we don't get to know who the Yellow King is for certain. We just get to hope that it was Errol. Or maybe I am just giving the writer an "easy out."
That being said did Errol have a PA system in the abandoned tunnels/Carcosa?

What I want to find out is where that final scene was shot, mainly the outside. That looked too actual to have been made up as a prop. It looked like old ruins built right into the side of an embankment. I've been searching today but come up blank.

HBO segment explained it was an overgrown pre civil war fort they found. Very cool... Funny you say that too. When I was watching live I was thinking how similar the structure looked to a pre-Civil War era fort near my hometown in Rhode Island.

I'm originally from Middletown, which is next to Newport on Aquidneck Island. If you are familiar with the beaches of Newport (1st, 2nd and 3rd Beach) my family occupied much of what is now Third Beach Road dating back to early 1600s. Only a few left due to the crazy appreciation in real estate values.

They don't have a backline there... when I play there it's all Zs. I've also had bands there that borrowed my Zs.

My father and I have a tradition of getting dinner at Flo's and grabbing a scotch at the Blues Cafe. I actually had Flo's menu professionally framed for my office! It's a small world...
