I'm wanting to try a few more speakers in my RX Jr. As some of you may be aware it is a pretty bright amp with lots of high mids and low end available.
I'm thinking I want a speaker with some more low mids to help fatten it up a little. Smooth top end is a must. I don't like fizzy/fuzzy artifacts that it gets with some brighter speakers. And tight bass would be a plus as well. FWIW, the g12m greenback is one of my favorites with the amp. I also tend to lean toward lower efficiency speakers.
So some that I'm considering are - WGS Invader or ET-65, Celestion Creamback or 12-65. Any other suggestions?

Even before I finished reading, I was going to suggest a greenback. However, it's not known for the tightest bass.
A G12-65 has that big dust cover, it helps control the fizzy high end, and they say it's somewhere in the greenback camp. But I would never buy the Celestion version. I'd go for the WGS ET-65.

WGS ET-65!! I have the Invader and the ET-65. The Invader has a touch more fizz and grain like a Greenback. The ET65 has more tight bass but a touch more neutral with no fizz or buzz. Both are better than the Creamback IMHO.

Thanks! I was sorta leaning towards the ET so I'm going to give it a try.

A Cannabis Rex will tame the harshness without sounding dull. They sound good right out of the box too without any break-in time.

I'll look into the Rex. Seems like I looked into them once for a different amp but never tried one. The WGS Liberator looks promising as well.

EV EVM12L. I seem to be the lone EV fan here. But seriously, everyone should have at least one. Incredible speaker for any amp, any style. They just let the amp sound like it should. Little heavy with a 16 lb magnet. Just about every amp I've ever had ended up with an EV. The daunting realm of speakers is much smaller for me. There are EV, and everything else.

^^^^^ you're not the only EV fan here. Count me in….but they are heavy! Sounds great with every amp I've tried it with.

I've got an ET65 and Liberator ordered. I'd be interested in hearing more about the Liberator when you get it. I had the ET65 and liked it, but thought it could use a little more mids for my taste and rig.

I just put the ET in last night. My thoughts are similar to yours, with my RX Jr anyways. I have yet to play it in a band context so I will with hold my my opinion of it until then. With a mid heavy amp I could see this speaker being really nice. Not that its bad right now at all.

The ET-65 is nice, but, it's just not the right speaker for the RX Jr. I could definitely see using it in a more mid-heavy amp. Would probably even be a good speaker for the Maz series.
Also, the liberator arrived yesterday so I'm will be able to try it this week. If the Liberator doesn't work out, I will most likely get a WGS Reaper and be done with it. A broken in G12H30 really does sound nice in this amp so the Reaper should work as well.

Is the liberator working out and how does it compare to the ET-65?

I do like the Liberator more than the ET. It does sound a little fuller to me with a tad more low-mid content. It does need some more break in time to smooth it out a little, though. After I got a good idea of what the two WGS speakers sounded like I decided to try a Weber Ceramic Silver Bell that I usually have in an extension cab. So far, I prefer the Silver Bell over both WGS speakers. It gives me a lot of the mids I was looking for and sounds great. I'm going to stick with it for a while.

Thanks for the info on the speakers and I'll keep the Weber Silver Bell in mind.

You might wanna try the newer Weber "Grey Wolf" ceramic, basically a silver bell with a V-30 style cone and maybe a larger magnet or voice coil or something like that... and you know I Love the Silver bell.
The Grey Wolf may be the PERFECT speaker for the RX Jr and RX ES amps... one 12" 50 watt grey wolf in light dope.
jus sayin...
great under the radar speaker. I still use the Silver bells mainly as they drop the volume some and let you open up the amp a bit more..
The Grey wolf is a tad bit more efficient (but not bad at all) I think due to the V-30 style cone so it seems a bit louder than a regular silver bell to me, but it could just be the mids I hear more of...

I am a RedFang guy, prefer the older ones...they say they are exactly the same they just upped the wattage capability...however I don;t always believe whats written...I have had great luck with the RF...takes a while for them to break in but I have used them in every Z I have had, all my old fender combos and bottoms...I like em...YMMV

I had actually been looking at the grey wolf but didn't know much about it. The only negative for me would be the higher efficiency compared to the silver bell. I really like the silver bell, especially now that it's starting to break in a little. Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Proboards
