Fresh set of Tung Sol RI 6V6's biased to 70% plate dissipation and a new Tung Sol RI EF806S gold pin. Happy happy! I forgot how good this amp sounds CLEAN! Maybe its the new EF, IDK. Nor do I care. Lush, complex, blooming cleans with just a hair of dirt with my G&L Legacy. Settings 1,10,12, add old FD2 for crunch. Sounds almost as good with my MIM tele, whose stock hot ceramic kinda suck. Ran out of "loud time" to run the 335 and LP through it, but will. Actually, I had the time, just didn't want to put the G&L down. :-)
Also, my tech did me a solid. He installed 1 ohm resistors for using a multimeter to read bias and showed me how to do it/where to put the meter probes. I was going to buy a bias probe: turns out I don't need one! Any of you do this/know what I'm talking about?

I know myself too well....I use the double socket tool....a bit safer for a Murphy's Law guy like me....

I had a tech fo the same thing to my Route 66. She biased up nicely every time. I also had a tech do the same to my Route 66. I don't know what I'm doing but he does, so I let him do the biasing. I really should become more familiar with this. It would save a little money, time and hassle.

Glad to hear you've got her running up to stuff. Such a killer amp and once you know how to bias it yourself the annual tube turnover is easy. Watch out for the 335/28 combo. You may never play another guitar through it again.

What are your go to 335 settings? I have all day to experiment, loudly. Gonna run the 335 and the LP copy with SD P-Rails/Triple Shot rings thru it.

Well, I use a CS336 and typically I like to put the V at 10, the B at 10 and the T at 2. That's a great starting point for a clean with hair and drive from the guitar using the bridge and a heavy right hand. To each his own but have fun!

Its got a SD Pearly Gates in the bridge and a Tonerider Rocksong in the neck, with coil taps and a treble bleed.
Your settings are about where I put it for the Les Paul, 10,10,1. That's got SD P-Rails, and theyre hotter.
